Rossmor Guest House

Rossmor has been sold and closed permanently on the 31 October.

It is the end of a long era of hospitality since the new owners are returning it to a residence.

We have mixed feelings about it, but the time is right.

7 years have been quite an adventure and we are proud of the service we have provided. Rossmor has always had a good reputation, so we have followed the excellent legacies left by former owners.

To end our time 'in service' with 9.8/10 from Booking.com, 4.9/5 from TripAdvisor and 5/5 from Google is humbling as well as rewarding. TripAvisor has designated Rossmor No 1 in Grantown.

We have always wanted our guests to leave Rossmor feeling good about Scotland and I think we have achieved that.

What is next? who knows , it is currently in the hands of the fates. We have a few excursions planned and locals have invited us to look after their homes while they are away over the next period.

We are mendicants until we can suss out what, where, and how.

The perfect place to stay
Rossmor is simply a dream. The house is beautiful. The spaces are cozy. The view is spectacular. Breakfast is prepared with such care and has such amazing flavors that words can't describe it. Every detail shows thoughtfulness and care. The rooms are gorgeous. The service is wonderful. Thomas is an incredible person — loving, kind, joyful — and makes everyone feel completely at ease and comfortable. Every minute of the stay is worth it. I will come back again and again. When you're thinking about where to stay, don't hesitate: Thomas, Ben, and Rossmor are the right choice!
There’s absolutely nothing I could say against my stay — it was perfect! Every request, every question I had was met with so much care, kindness, and attention. I’m deeply grateful for all of Thomas’s incredible help and hospitality!

An absolutely beautiful property inside and out, with stunning furniture that’s fascinating to look at. We had a 4 poster bed that was very comfortable and the size of the room was generous. It’s perfectly located to walk into the town, and then little more than a 20min drive away from the vast majority of what you may want to do in the North Cairngorms. Thomas the host is brilliant! Always looking to be helpful, hilarious, and cooked a homemade breakfast with fresh local ingredients. The best salmon and eggs I’ve ever had.

Great, comfortable room. Great breakfast. Great host. Friendly welcoming attentive always helpful with local knowledge of anything you happen to be interested in. Highly recommend

Please to Announce we have moved up a notch with the reviews provided by our guests through Booking.com. Now 9.8/10.
This follows our continuing 5 stars from TripAdvisor reviews.

Rossmor Guest House is a luxury Victorian Villa with stunning views in the Cairngorms National Park. It is close to the Speyside Whisky Trail, Aviemore, Loch Ness, and the Moray Coast. Stay at Rossmor and spoil yourself with a wee bit of luxury, unspoilt scenery and great hospitality.

Just realised that Rossmor has accumulated over 1000 reviews from guests. 97% of theses have rated Rossmor 9* + of which the vast majority have rated 10/10

We are so appreciative of guests taking their time to provide such positive feedback, many quite detailed.

It makes it al so worthwhile and indeed rewarding that our guests appreciative what we (and our predecessors) have provided.

Christmas Day and we are wearing the aprons sent from a lovely guest, Ruth from Western Australia who loved her time at Rossmor.
All full of Aussie animals and birds.

Celebrating the end of the tourist season with a scrumptious afternoon tea at the wonderful (other) guesthouse, Ravenscourt. Recommended. - also their Italian/Mediterranean evening meals hit the right spot.

The reindeer visit is one of the highlights of Glen Mor - not far from Grantown

Okapi is over fifteen years old but she's still in great condition and has grown another cracking set of antlers. She spends most of her time out free-ranging but occasionally comes into the enclosure for some extra feed. What a star!! 🌟
