The modern vintage interior is timeless, while the extensive grounds provide countless opportunities for stunning wedding photos that you will cherish for years to come. The aspect of the house is conveniently placed to enjoy the most stunning sunsets as the backdrop to your precious day. We are also excited to introduce our exclusive new 'Speakeasy' Whisky & Gin bar to ensure the festivities are toasted in style. Facilities and Capacity
Lancrigg exudes a timeless elegance and historic appeal. The property has connections to William Wordsworth, Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin and many other notable guests and residents. The Grade II listed building dates back to the 1600s and has been added to over time to create a unique and unusual space full of character and charm, including a recently restored traditional slate barn. The venue is surrounded by 30 acres of woodland and open fields at the base of Helm Crag and overlooking Easedale to the fells beyond. The property is fully licensed to hold ceremonies, so you can exchange vows in the house, barn or on the sweeping lawn. The historic dining room is ideal for smaller celebrations and can accommodate a wedding breakfast with up to 45 guests. Larger gatherings up to 110 guests can be held in the restored barn or for a festival wedding with the inclusion of teepees and sailcloth tents we can accommodate up to 200 guests. Services Offered
Every couple deserves something special on their wedding day, and Lancrigg provides precisely that. The team is dedicated to creating unique, relaxed and memorable occasions for clients. Regardless of the event style or size, we strive to help bring the celebration to life. With full facilities onsite providing the perfect area for professional caterers to provide incredible quality, locally produced food as well as our own in-house wrap around food options, the team can provide a list of trusted local suppliers if required. There is also accommodation onsite with 17 individually furnished bedrooms within the house and the barn. Lancrigg is easily accessible, has good facilities for disabled guests, and extensive private parking.

We’ve had some very special reviews from our couples this year, and this one just made our day! 💕

Lilia & Joshua celebrated their wonderful wedding with us in June, and we were delighted to hear that it was everything they’d dreamed of! ✨

“We had our midweek wedding at Lancrigg in June, and it was the most amazing day we could ever have dreamed of. So much of that was down to the incredible team at Lancrigg, as well as the absolutely beautiful setting. The venue itself is stunning, and having enough accommodation for our family and friends to stay made the whole experience even more special. Every member of staff was incredibly helpful and kind, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. There was some uncertainty over whether the weather would hold out long enough for us to have our ceremony outside, but Simon and the team made it a priority to have everything ready so that we could move outdoors at the last minute if the weather allowed – which we were so grateful for. We stayed for two nights, both the night before and the night of the wedding, and enjoyed lovely breakfasts each morning. We also had pizzas in the evening, which were delicious, and the team even saved two for us to enjoy after we had finished celebrating at the end of the night! Throughout our stay, everyone was incredibly accommodating of the various dietary requirements within our group. The bar staying open until 2am was the perfect end to the day, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to be there and involved in the celebrations. So many of our guests commented on how friendly and kind everyone was. Overall, Lancrigg was absolutely incredible, and we cannot thank everyone enough for the time, effort, and care they put into making our wedding so special. We would wholeheartedly recommend Lancrigg to anyone considering getting married there, and honestly wish we could do it all over again!”

Happy 🐶 🐾

We’re super dog friendly here at Lancrigg and lots of our couples choose to include their dog in their wedding celebrations 🎉

Like Jess & Alex who celebrated their wedding with us in May and made sure Roo was involved in everything! From cuddles during hair and make up, to zoomies around our grounds, and finally relaxing in the lounge after all the excitement 🥰

Can you believe it’s September next week? 🍁 🍂
This year is absolutely flying by!

Amazingly we still have some FABULOUS Autumn dates available for next year, including one remaining weekend in September plus weekends in October and November. We also have midweek dates in all months.

These gorgeous photos are from Lauren & Alistair’s beautiful Autumn wedding last September and we were thrilled to read this lovely review they left us.

“We knew the Lancrigg was our dream wedding venue when we were shown around by Simon. Simon is the most relaxed and calming person you will ever meet and that is what you need for a wedding. What drew us to the Lancrigg was the beautiful surroundings, the ability to have the whole place to offer as a place to stay for some of our guests and the option to get married inside or outside (dependent on the weather). As a couple, we wanted a more personal wedding and to do most things ourselves and the Lancrigg are probably one of the fewer venues to allow you to personalise your day. The hotel rooms were beautiful, very clean and the cooked breakfast was a major hit alongside the buffet the night before. Simon allowed us to set up the venue ourselves and no ask was too much, he was on hand the whole time- even carrying a brolly to help me walk down the aisle without looking soaked. Despite being a wedding venue, we felt like we were the only people to ever get married there. It is not a one in one out type of venue. The staff make you feel like the most special couple and ensure that you have the most special wedding day. Thank you to Simon, Alison and the Lancrigg team for creating the most special day for us, our family and our friends. We cannot wait to visit again one day.”

We love a good party! 🎉
Our barn has played host to some absolute belters already this year! 🎶 🎸 🎤

Couples often ask how late music and drinks can be enjoyed in our beautiful barn. 🥂 ✨

Barn doors should be closed from 11pm while music can continue until 2am, giving you and your guests plenty of time to dance the night away. 🪩

Our in-house bar operates from the moment your guests arrive until demand subsides or until 2am on the wedding night. 🥂
