Ayton Lodge No 9595 was consecrated in the Afton Hall in Ayton School on the 10th February 1996.

Its aims and objectives were to establish a formal Masonic presence in Great Ayton, to promote friendship between members and their families and to encourage an involvement in the community of Great Ayton. Many of the Founders, and more recently joining members, are are members of several Lodges in nearby towns seldom meeting together as one body. The founding of this Lodge within the village crea

ted the platform for these people to join together with a common cause as inhabitants of Great Ayton. From this basis new candidates could be sought to expand the small original group. This has been done and continues.

The Society plans to provide opportunity and experience through a structure, using Yatton House media channels that enables their members to have a digital presence, but this required £870 of specialised equipment. As they have successfully done in the past, Yatton House approached the Freemasons in Ayton Lodge for assistance towards this goal. Ayton Lodge then applied to their regional charity based in York, and between them the required funds were soon with available. And as the pictures show the members are using it very professionally. Ayton Lodge 9595 Proud to Support Great Ayton Junior Football Club.
Great Ayton Junior Football Club were looking for support to help supply the junior teams with warm coats to ensure the players could comfortably continue their practices and games during the colder months. The Secretaries of the under 10 and under 12 teams contacted Ayton Lodge via the lodge website, explaining the situation, and were pleasantly surprised when they were presented with 32 winter coats within a few weeks.
The jackets for both teams and their coaches cost £1,410, and are embossed front and back with “Sponsored by Ayton Lodge”. Not only have the team have been able to stay warm and dry during the colder months but with the additional advantage that the matching jackets give the teams a sense of belonging and feeling of being part of a cohesive team.
