Meet The Stables at Priestcliffe — our newest property in the making! 🏡

We’re not quite ready to reveal the finished look just yet, but we thought we’d take you behind the scenes and show you a little of the transformation as the work gets underway.

Set in the pretty rural hamlet of Priestcliffe, this future Peak Venues stay will boast breath-taking views across the Peak District, with both Bakewell and Buxton close by. 🌿🌄

There’s still plenty to do before we can welcome our first guests, but we already know this one is going to be worth the wait!

A day out at Mayfield Alpaca Farm 🦙

What a great day out for all the family and for just the two of you too as we discovered! Fresh air, countryside views, (lovely view of Sheffield in the distance) and taking far too many photos of alpacas doing absolutely nothing… but doing it very well 😏

Only a short drive from the Peak District too, so it’s an easy add-on if you’re staying nearby with us and want something a bit different from the usual walking boots routine.

Simple day out, good laughs, and surprisingly hard to leave 💚

If you're exploring the Peak District this summer, make time for the beautiful sunflower fields at Barlow. Wander through thousands of golden blooms, snap a few photos, and soak up a proper summer's day.

It's the perfect stop before heading back for an evening BBQ, a drink in the garden, or simply relaxing at your Peak Venues property.

Just across from the Annexe you’ll find the fabulous Games Room – a brilliant hangout for kids and grown-ups alike.

Packed with fun: an 8ft Brunswick pool table, Bonzini table football, and a Stern AC/DC pinball machine on free play. There’s also a Smart TV, comfy seating and bean bags, plus a Sony PS4 if you fancy a gaming session. Feeling musical? Have a go on the Yamaha Clavinova digital piano.

There’s even a handy kitchenette (fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher) and a separate WC – so once you’re in, you might not want to leave. 🎮🎹

🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of Peak Venues 🎉

Over the past 20 years, we've welcomed thousands of guests through our doors, and some have become part of the Peak Venues story itself.

One of those groups is Flutes at the Barn, who have been returning to us for around a decade. Their annual stay at Lapwing Barns has become a much-loved tradition, bringing together musicians for a week of music, friendship and relaxation in the heart of the Peak District.

As they told us:

"For us, it's a perfect combination of space, comfort and seclusion. You always make sure that we've got everything we need for a fantastic week, and that's why we keep coming back."
