Located in the heart of the Chilterns in the historic town of Great Missenden, Abbeyfield House offers sheltered housing for older people. We have 15 rooms of varying sizes, with kitchenettes and en-suite facilities. The home offers secure living in a warm and friendly environment with private rooms and as well as communal areas for meals, socialising and group activities.

Volunteers Week
At Abbeyfield Great Missenden, we are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful group of volunteers who help us create a safe, relaxed, and happy home for our residents. From our dedicated board of trustees, to school children and students completing their DofE awards, to local residents who so generously give their time. Each and every one of you makes a real difference. Your kindness, care, and support mean so much to residents and staff, and we want to say a truly heartfelt thank you for everything you do.

Our residents always look forward to the visit from the children at Great Missenden C of E School—and today they arrived full of curiosity! The children came armed with questions about what school was like for our residents and how it compares to school today. Safe to say, plenty of eyebrows were raised, and I think most of the children left feeling very glad they weren’t doing lessons 80+ years ago!

Who doesn’t love a little retail therapy? Our residents certainly did on our trip to the local Blue Diamond Garden centre! The day was made even more special with a relaxing stop at the café, where everyone enjoyed tea and cake together. 😊
