But after continuously checking about 6 different weather apps we’ve decided to cancel this evening 💔💔💔

We are not here next weekend BUT WEATHER PROVIDING

Lowestoft Maritime Festival tomorrow, 20 minutes away and free.

Historic vessels open to board, sea shanties, RNLI, boat trips from the pier. If you are on the field this weekend, go. And this is the sort of thing that is on all autumn, not just in August.

Pitches free every week in September.

Schools go back on the 3rd. From Friday the 4th it is seven weeks of empty footpaths, cheap boat hire and no queue at the Reedham ferry.

Adults only, dogs welcome, one night or a month.

September round here is busier than August, and almost none of it is aimed at children.

15 to 17 Sept: three days of flat racing at Great Yarmouth, twenty-five minutes away.
11 to 20 Sept: Heritage Open Days, buildings across Beccles, Yarmouth and Lowestoft open free.
17 to 20 Sept: the beer festival at the Ice House, three pounds in and free on the Sunday.
19 Sept: outdoor cinema at Somerleyton, five miles from the gate.

One five-night stay covers the lot.

We share a boundary with a working farm and an animal sanctuary. It is the reason we are adults only, and it is also the reason it sounds the way it does here at six in the morning.

Full for the bank holiday, as usual.

Bank holidays here go early, every one of them. If you want a pitch for a long weekend, the answer is always to book it the moment you know.

September is the one that is still wide open, and it is the best month of the year on the Waveney.
