Dear Guests

After nearly 19 very happy years running the Shrewsbury, we have finally retired. We have sold the guest house to a lovely family who are going to take over from us. Tony and I would like to thank you for your continuing support over the years and it is a very true saying ‘arrive as guests, leave as friends’. We have made many friends over the years, and we hope you will continue to keep in touch and that we can meet up when you are staying in Great Yarmouth.
Arun and Narmada are looking forward to meeting you all in the coming months. We have passed on your bookings and I’m sure you will be hearing from them in the weeks ahead once they have settled in. We both hope you will support them in the same way you supported us.
Once again, many thanks to you all and we look forward to catching up with you in the near future.

Covid-19 - Ready to open 4th July 2020

The Shrewsbury is now ready to welcome guests from 4th July 2020. It has been a difficult time for everyone but hopefully now the government has relaxed the social distancing rules we can all return to some kind of normality, albeit slightly different, to what we are all used to.
In line with government guidance we have repurposed our lounge to become an additional dining room so we can maintain social distancing at this time.
You will find hand sanitiser at each entrance hallway and in the dining rooms, please do use this freely, it is there for your protection and the protection of others.
The rooms will be deep cleaned and sanitised ready for each new arrival. During your stay we will clean the rooms daily however guidelines state the rooms must be vacated while we do this. If you choose not to have your room cleaned during your stay, please let us know if you require anything replenished.
Unfortunately, for the time being we need to ask guests to pre-order breakfast because we can no longer allow guests to help themselves to the cereal, juices, yoghurts, jams etc.
For those guests who would prefer not to eat in the dining room and don’t want a cooked option we have a separate breakfast menu for you to choose from that will be delivered to your room at a pre-quested time.
Holidaying in 2020 will be a very different experience for some people however a holiday is what you make it, and now that the attractions are able to open you should find plenty to do in the area, not forgetting our fantastic beach.
Tony and I look forward to welcoming you back and helping you to make your 2020 holiday a special one.

Just thought we would let everyone know that despite the Covid 19 virus we are open as usual. These are unchartered times and government advice is changing daily but life needs to go on so if you are fit and well and looking forward to your holiday we will welcome you as usual.

Because of restrictions in the tourism sector and the possible closure of some restaurants and pubs we are offering lunches and dinner if needed.

As everyone is aware our deposits and on-line bookings are made on a non-refundable basis however due to the unprecedented situation we are all in, anyone who has either paid a deposit or the full amount for their holiday will be able to rebook within 12 months at no extra cost as long as we receive notification within 2 weeks of arrival.

Hopefully normality will return sooner rather than later and we hope everyone keeps well during these difficult times.

We would to thank our guest's for supporting our charity this year by eating chocolate,Pringles and drinking water and cans of cola from our snack bar and donating to the charity box,this year our charity was Make a Wish foundation,with your help we raised £414.21p to be used in the local area to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
