When the evening starts to cool from the heat of the day, there’s nothing we enjoy more than sitting in the garden with a Pimm’s or two and delight in the rambling roses cascading around the front door and the entrance to the four poster ensuite garden room. As a bonus the hosta’s are giving a great floral display too in the lavender edged border and the hollyhock’s are growing ever taller in a multitude of colours. The daily sweet pea harvest continues unabated in surprising abundance.

With the temperature approaching 35 degrees centigrade, the garden is coping well with the heat thanks to just enough watering.

We are starting to pick our sweet peas which are giving a fragrant uplift to the breakfast tables, and the row of lavender, planted in early May between the two ensuite garden rooms, is now in full bloom. Even the rambling rose around the front door, couldn’t hold off any longer, and is starting to come into flower too.

Our beautiful garden is the perfect setting to check-in, choose an ice cold beverage from the bar, take a rest under one of our shady parasols and enjoy everything flowering around you.

Where better to take a well earned break in your Cotswolds home from home in the heart of Guiting Power.

There is still availability in July so book at guitingguesthouse.com and enjoy a thank you book direct discount on us of 5% for one night stays or 10% for stays of 2 or more nights.

When we’ve had a very busy morning, preparing guest rooms to the highest of standards, we love to take time out at Sudeley Castle only a 15 minute drive from Guiting Guest House on the road to Winchcombe.

The castle grounds are beautiful with The Queen’s Garden, enjoying Rosa ‘Mundi’ currently at its best underplanted with Russian Sage, Achillia, geraniums and other herbaceous perennials. Here you follow in the footsteps of Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr, Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth I, four of England’s queens who have walked the grounds of Sudely castle in centuries gone by.

The White Garden, at St Mary’s Chapel and final resting place of Katherine Parr, Henry VIII’s last wife, is a sight to behold with the pergola and chapel walls covered in elegant white roses including Rosa ‘Adelaide D’Orleans’ and Rosa ‘William and Catherine’ planted together with white peonies and clematis.

But it’s not all about the flowers and queens of England , as Sudely has recently welcomed and restored eight life sized hand crafted Indian elephant sculptures. Originating from Southern India and part of a global migration project, run by the conservation charity Elephant Family, the elephants spread a message of the importance of peaceful coexistence between humankind and nature. You may have already seen huge herds of them in the Royal Parks in London back in the summer of 2021.

Plan your next stay at Guiting Guest House, your home from home in the in the heart of Guiting Power, and immerse yourself in the historical splendour and beauty of nearby Sudely Castle & Gardens.

…. don’t forget to say hello to the elephants.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Guiting Guest House is at the iconic RHS Chelsea Flower Show to seek joy and inspiration at the best flower show on earth.

But what’s going on this year? The gnome ban has been lifted for the King, roses are being named after footballer’s and electric Range Rovers are being parked in show gardens!

Of course for us garden lovers it’s all about the plants and flowers and where better to see those than in the fabulous Great Pavillion and in the many show gardens which magically look like they have been here for ever!

We arrived for the 8am opening where there is a brief period you can enjoy the show before the surging crowds arrive en mass.

This is our third visit to RHS Chelsea and each year we love to buy something floriferous to plant in the Guiting Guest House garden for the enjoyment of our beloved guests. Last year it was hartsnursery roselilies and every year it’s been, Darren Everest’s amazing sweet peas, Darren Everest Dahlias Sweetpeas

We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy our garden and a well earned stay at Guiting Guest House, your home from home in the heart of .

We’ve been busy in the garden over the last few weeks.

Back in February we planted our Darren Everest Sweet Pea seeds, Darren Everest Dahlias Sweetpeas, which we purchased from Darren at RHS Chelsea 2025.

Darren is an RHS Chelsea Flower show gold medal winner who cultivates sweet peas and dahlias based on the Isle of Wight.

This year we left the seeds to establish in a garden shed and, whilst they were slow to start, we have been rewarded with much sturdier looking plants, benefiting from a strong root system, than when we let the seeds establish on a windowsill indoors.

We pinched out the main growing stem,
after two pairs of leaves, to encourage side shoots and a greater number of flowers.

We’ve planted them out into about 8 pots and some have gone straight into the ground outside one of our garden rooms.

We are now looking forward to loads of highly fragranced beautiful sweat pea blooms and we’ll keep you updated on how well they do.

We can’t wait to welcome you soon to enjoy our gardens and stay at Guiting Guest House your home from home in the heart of

We’ve been busy in the garden over the last few weeks.

Sadly last year our wisteria flowered for the last time and there were no signs of life so we removed all the old stems and as much root as we could find, dug a large hole, enriched the soil and planted a lovely new wisteria. So far we have been rewarded with lots of new leaf growth. Hopefully next season we’ll get flowers too, when more established.

We’ve also planted a Clematis Montana at the front door to compliment the one outside our Room 5 garden room. The beauty of the new one is its fragrance which is very pleasant on arrival at the guest house.

We can’t wait to welcome you soon to enjoy our gardens and stay at Guiting Guest House your home from home in the heart of
