Thea's Cottage Thea's Cottage offers self-catering accommodation for up to 6 people in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales The third is twin-bedded with an en-suite shower room.

Thea’s Cottage is situated in the tiny hamlet of Satron, just under a mile West of Gunnerside. Beautifully positioned away from the road and overlooking the river and hillside beyond, it offers accommodation of up to six adults in a traditional ‘long house’ which has been adapted for 21st century living whilst retaining many original features. Fully renovated in 2009 and awarded tourism 4-star des

ignation, the accommodation comprises a spacious stone flagged kitchen dining area with log-burning stove; a flagged sitting room with stove; a utility and boot room with washing machine/dryer and a downstairs toilet; two king-size bedrooms - one using the luxurious house bath and shower room and the other with an en-suite bath and shower room. A selection of books are provided and, if staying in is on your mind, various house games are there for you. The sitting room has a curved 4K (UHD) Freesat TV and Bluetooth soundbar and a blu-ray DVD player. There is also a wall-mounted television and echo dot in the dining area. The cottage is fitted with WiFi throughout. Outside is a walled garden and patio area to the south with built-in barbecue and outside furniture and to the north is a grass terrace taking in the views of beautiful Swaledale.

Nine Standards Rigg in Birkdale at the head of Swaledale. Apparently these were supposed to deter invading Scots by fooling them into thinking that the hills were guarded. The walk back is a spectacular paved path which is part of the Coast to Coast path and about a 20 minute drive from Thea’s Cottage.
