CAERNARFON CASTLE

Built over 700 years ago, is it recognised as one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages around the world.

Caernarfon Castle, along with Conwy, Beaumaris and Harlech are grouped together as Edward the 1st castle, and protected as a World Heritage Sites.

The castle is on the banks of the River Seiont, with its immense curtain walls and very daunting Kings Gate, which were designed to withstand assault. It also features the polygonal towers, multi-coloured masonry, eagle statues and the walls of Constantinople which echo the Roman architecture

It is known as;

AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY | AONB

Did you know there are 60 sq miles of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Gwynedd, North Wales that were awarded in 1956?

It means that the area has been designated for conservation due to its significant landscape value.

We are lucky that some of our sites fall within this area, and they look out onto the natural beauty.

PORTMEIRION | 📍 Penrhyndeudraeth, Wales

Did you know we have an Italian style village here in the midst of Wales?

This spectacular gem of a place, was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976. For 51 years he developed the naturally beautiful site, showing how it can be transformed into the wonder it is today.

Portmeirion has plenty to do and see, plenty of cafes;

- The Town Hall Café
- Caffi Glas
- Caffi 6
- Caffi’r Sgwâr
- Caffi'r Ddraig
- Angel Ices is an Italian style gelateria

Shops;
- The Prisoner Shop with souvenirs of the famous series filmed here in 1966-67
- Rob Piercy Gallery
- The Ship Shop with gifts, toys, housewares
- Portmeirion Pottery best-ware, Portmeirion Pottery seconds as well as preserves, wines, and confectioneries

It also has two hotels, The Hotel Portmeirion and Castell Deudraeth.

And to top it all off it has it's own Spa!

We are fortunate that all our sites are within either the Area of Outstanding National Beauty or Eryri | Snowdonia National Park.

DOG FRIENDLY BEACHES 📍 Llyn Peninsula

🐕 🐶 From the 1st of October the restrictions on the local beaches for dogs are lifted 😀 😀

Normally they are restricted to certain parts of the beach or not allowed at all between May - Oct

So when you take your dogs for a walk and you find the beach EMPTY - you can't quiet believe it! And neither could they!

They had a ball running around and as the tide went out, we had more and more of the beach to ourselves.

But can you guess where we are?

🌅 Ty Coch Inn 📍 Porthdinllaen

🔟 Did you know Ty Coch Inn, was voted top 10 beach bars in the world! 🍻🍷

This magical pub is located on National Trust land near 📍 Nefyn, Llyn Peninsula.

To access the pub, you have a beautiful stroll along the beach for about 20minutes, or a walk through the golf coast on the head land with spectacular views. 👣 🏌️‍♂️

This area use to be a small fishing village that was perched on the thin peninsula, it is now home to the local Porthdinllaen RNLI. 🚤💦

If you are looking you can also head down here for local dolphin watching 🐬
