Druridge Bay Country Park with its woods and red squirrels, lakes and calendar of events is a mere 10 minute walk from No.6; giving access to beautiful golden beaches, reed beds and waterways populated by otters and a huge variety of birds. The park and beach is ideal for star gazing on a clear night with little or no light pollution. The National cycleway travels through our park and walkers can enjoy the views of The Northumberland Coast and learn more of archaeological finds and ancient burials from the visitors centre. Known as "The Friendliest Port," Amble is only 4 miles from No.6 where fishermen still work and boat trips are offered to Coquet Island bird sanctuary, famous for its colony of puffins. Amble has a Sunday market and a variety of independent traders, antique and craft shops and is quickly gaining a reputation for its excellent restaurants serving local sea food. Pavement coffee shops and freshly made ice cream cannot be ignored whatever the Northumberland weather.
