Dear All Past Guests of Blyth Lodge B&B

It's been seven year's since we moved to Suffolk and opened our home as Blyth Lodge B&B. In that time we have met so many lovely people and I have enjoyed many chats.

Some of you may have stayed in the early years before and during the 'opening up'after covid. You would of probably met Clive, my husband. He was a carpenter builder and worked extremely hard when we moved here in 2018 and renovated our home and the B&B side and got it up and running. He also loved a good old chat. In those days breakfast was served in our conservatory from 8am, we may have still been in there at 10 chatting to guests.

You may not know but sadly,after all his hard work he became ill in January 2022 and passed away in the April, at home . He had all our three grown up children with 5 little grandsons here.

People asked then what I was going to do. I thought I would stay and open up the B&B again but was not 100% sure.
Then it hit me!!. Of cours, I need to open up and keep it going , for Clive, after all the hard work he had put into it to get it up and running. So, I decided I will keep the B&B going another couple of years.

Well, next April it will be 4 years since he passed. I still wasn't sure when to close the B&B. I know, if I do not run the B&B, then eventually I would move to something smaller as I don't need a big bungalow and I find the upkeep and all the gardening keeps me too busy.

Then a few months ago it came to me....... I get my pension from February next year so thats the time to stop.

Two weeks ago I received my letter from HMRC inviting me to claim my pension from February. Thank you very much ,I thought. I will do that !

If you want accomodation at all in the future please get in touch though because I might be able to help, if I am still here.

Up until the end of the year I am still here and running the B&B, so if you fancy a little visit back to Suffolk, please get in touch and there's a 10% discount off prices.

Lastly, I just want to thank you for being part of the journey with me running Blyth Lodge B&B. I have fond memories and remember faces and the lovely chats we had.

The Pear Tree Fund will be in Bungay every 3rd Thursday of the month. Working in collaboration with Bungay Community Support- BCS, we will be bringing our support to the people of Bungay who have been affected by a life-limiting illness, including families, carers and people who have been bereaved.

Disability Advice North East Suffolk are on hand to help with information and benefits advice, whilst our experienced Wellbeing Coordinator can help to provide a support package tailored to your individual circumstances.

We will be at Number 28 next Thursday 20th.
