The OrangeBox, Calderdale Myplace Bid The Orangebox Young People’s Centre will be a unique, world class facility led by local partnerships and young people, encouraging initiative and enterprise.

For more information contact [email protected] At the heart of the Orangebox vision are the following objectives:

- that it be a centre for young people with world-class design, location and facilities. A unique and excellent facility led by a local partnership and young people which encourages initiative and enterprise;

- that its offer of art, music, cultural activities, sport and informa

tion and communications technology facilities is contemporary, relevant and of exceptional quality;

- that alongside open access and drop-in facilities it provide discreet and professional advice and counseling services and facilitates enterprise initiatives;

- that it serves all young people and what it does not offer within the centre it will link to; so whether a young person has just discovered they are pregnant, wants to go canoeing, record an album, start a business or has been made homeless – their first stop will be the Orangebox;

- that it will by its ethos and practice encourage young people to develop a sense of ownership of, and care for the centre and by its physical location the Orangebox will place young people at the heart of urban renaissance - a physical reflection of the greater inclusion of, and a changing attitude toward young people.
