One week to go until our next history talk!

Our series of local history talks has been hugely popular. So far we've covered the history of Holdsworth House, Anne Lister, the Brontes, the Cragg Vale Coiners, heroic local women, and the forgotten architecture of Halifax.

Join us on 8th September as we delve into one of the most notorious cases in British criminal history, that of John Reginald Christie. Tickets are available on our website for £15. An early bird supper from the Garden Menu is available if you'd like to dine beforehand.

We were delighted to welcome a very special guest to Holdsworth House this week.

Our maintenance man, Mark Pugh (pictured left), had the pleasure of hosting Sir Paul Lambert KCB, KStJ during his visit to the hotel.

Mark is a former submariner and now serves as President of the Submariners Association for West Yorkshire. Sir Paul is a former Royal Navy officer who served as Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff and commanded HMS Coventry, a Type 42-class destroyer.

Sir Paul's visit came after he purchased a voucher, donated by us, at the Submariners Association's annual AGM. During his time with us, Mark was proud to present him with the Submariners Association West Yorkshire Riding Branch crest.

Thank you both for your service to our country. It was our privilege to welcome you to Holdsworth House.
