After a LOT of persuading, she’s finally agreed to have her photo taken and posted… the OG of Sewing Box — my Mum, Julie ✂️🧵

My mum started working here at just 26 years old. 41 years ago 🫣🤣 She did briefly escape to work at Nestlé… but clearly couldn’t stay away for long 😂

She came back, loved it even more, and eventually ended up buying the shop off the previous owner in 2004

And she’s been here ever since along side myself who joined the business in 2019

She doesn’t just work at The Sewing Box Halifax Borough Market — she lives and breathes it.

It’s never just been a business to her… it’s her hobby, her passion, and probably her favourite place to be ❤️

You will now only find Julie at the shop Saturdays and Monday (she’s meant to be retired 🤣) so I come and say hi inside the Halifax Borough Market
