πŸ† Well, shucks. I’m so incredibly proud to share that Diverse Nation has been named a Finalist in the Diverse Business category at the 2026 Enterprise Vision Awards.

As a neurodivergent woman, Chartered Psychologist, and founder of Diverse Nation, this recognition means so much more to me than just a business achievement.

Diverse Nation came from personal lived experience of navigating a world that often wasn't designed with neurodivergent people in mind. Like many autistic and ADHD adults, I've experienced the anxiety, sensory overwhelm, and unpredictability that can come with travelling and staying away from home, and I wanted to prove that accommodation could be different.

Today, Diverse Nation provides scientifically designed, neuroinclusive accommodation that helps guests feel calmer, safer, and more comfortable, whether they're travelling for work, visiting family, or taking a well-deserved break. Every property is carefully designed using psychological principles and lived experience to reduce sensory overwhelm and support wellbeing.

Over the past year, we've continued to demonstrate that neuroinclusive design isn't just possible, it's valuable. From achieving the Autism Friendly Award from the National Autistic Society to now being named an EVAS finalist, it's been an incredible journey.

π’π²π¦π¦πžπ­π«π’πœπšπ₯ 𝐦𝐒𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 surrounds are a small but considered choice. A clean, balanced frame reduces visual noise and makes a space feel calm and grounded, which matters more than most people realise, especially for neurodivergent guests who process their surroundings differently.

πŸ₯³ Well, we did it. Loads of us. It took over 6 months to get right and just 90 minutes from go-live for our first guests to arrive. That was 3 weeks ago and we've been booked solid since!

Can't even tell you how much went into this...but trying to sustainably revamp the internals of a listed building to make the space a neuroinclusive place to stay is not for the fainthearted πŸ˜…

We purposely painted the door Tardis blue to acknowledge that great things can come in seemingly small packages - you just wouldn't know that an incredible three-storey elegant maisonette is what's waiting when you enter through that little doorway of The Joseph Cosy.

I won't bore you with a raft of pictures, but just wanted to show you what the same room looks like in daylight, and what happens when the blackout blinds go down and the galaxy projector goes on. Let me tell you, it's the grown ups who love these even more than the kids, especially when simultaneously snuggled under some weighted blankets!

Our first guests arrived needing emergency housing after a fire, you can just imagine what the parents and three little kiddies were feeling having left everything behind, and turning up in a state none of us would wish on anyone. I was so happy to have
created a calming space for this family to find their feet again - they were sad to leave and I was sad to see them go, but while they were there they told me many times how the place had helped and that's the whole point, to create places where people, of all ages, can find some mental peace away from home.

I'm exhausted, but I'll keep going, because we need these spaces for families, groups, contractors, anyone. We all deserve cosy relaxation.

Occupancy rates, reviews, repeat bookings yet sometimes it shows up as a chalk drawing on a blackboard, left behind by a family who felt at home enough to make the space their own.

At Diverse Nation, we design our properties with inclusion, comfort, and real belonging at the centre.
