Following on from my last post I got all nostalgic this afternoon looking through old photos 💕
The first is Mum and a 4 year old me in 1976 on “our” beach. Big sister took the photo… the shadow you can see 📸
2nd up we have my handsome Dad who worked so hard on the Croft to keep us (4 children) fed and clothed. 🧑‍🌾
He built a Dairy and at one point bottled his own cows milk to deliver around the island. 🐮 Known as Seoras a Bhainne - George the milk. 🥛
I’m the youngest of four. Two big sisters and a brother… we all still live on the island although they’ve strayed across the border to Lewis! 🏝️
Lastly, standing in the garden of our family home 🏠
Growing up on an island, especially Harris has been a privilege… one I’m glad to have shared with my own two boys.👦 👦
Hopefully, one day they will have kids of their own to share the memories of their Harris childhood with 💭
