Peaceful, so many folk who stay here say how quiet it is. With no neighbours and hundreds of acres of croft it’s a great place to come and enjoy birdsong rather than traffic.

Glorious sunset at Northton last night. And a gin clear sky later, with the lack of light pollution the Wrens Nest is ideal for stargazers and aurora fans!

Longer days ahead. Come and stay, explore the croft, wander down to the loch or try your luck with a rod down at the shore. Splendidly rural location so you probably won’t see another soul. Simple comfortable accommodation for 1 or 2. Dogs welcome.

The days are slowly stretching, bring on the long days of summer, when the sun barely sinks below the horizon.
Superbly peaceful location for those looking for getting properly off the beaten track.

A few snowy days. The track down here doesn’t get gritted so it was stay home and raid the freezer till the thaw.

Happy Christmas to all, the algorithm hates me as I go off the “socials” during the winter, so if anyone sees this it will be a Christmas miracle😉. The snow in the pictures is from times past, it’s actually still and bright here at the moment and rumour has it that Father Christmas will be visiting the Wren’s Nest tonight!

A real wrens nest, found now the leaves are dropping. It was lovely to watch the young birds growing in confidence as they fledged, and the parents were kept busy feeding them.
