The amazing Basilica Santuario Madonna Della Lacrime, Syracuse…started in 1966 and completed in 1994.

The square sections on the outside at the base of the building have beautiful stained glass panels in and as the sun rotates around the building in the day it naturally lights them up!

The bells rang…reminded me of ‘For a few more dollars’…shoot out music! 🤣

Pic 8/9/10 I came outside to take a shot of the back of the building and there was a couple of people coming down the path so I waited….without looking lent on this tree OMG nearly slashed my hand off!
The Silk Floss Tree originally from South America….grows these natural large thorns so that predators can’t climb it. Think rose bush thorn x 10! Aghhhhh!

The not so funny part was I never intentionally set out to do it…half way up I realised I had the car keys in my pocket and Heidi was waiting down below…aghhhh!

Even funnier was coming over the top and seeing the look on the face of the father & daughter as I climbed over….priceless!
Thank god they were there so they could take my pic! 🤣

Even funnier I now realised I had no money so I couldn’t take the cable car 🚠 back down the other side….so I ran 30 mins back down…painful!

We had to go down a 1 in 2 hill to pull the car into where we were staying…If you don’t like serious hills & hair pin bends this place is definitely not for you! (Think coach driver on the ‘Italian Job’) 🤣

The swimming pool in the last two pictures had that David Hockney ‘A Bigger Splash’ look to it.

Think New Bond Street shopping….Louis Vuitton, D&G, Dior, Rolex. A very wealthy place with no soul!
