Ladies v Seniors Trophy Results

On Tuesday 23 June, 22 pairs from each side took part in the annual Ladies v Seniors match play competition. Despite the very hot conditions, the sun shone throughout the day and the course was presented in excellent condition.

The competition was close, with many matches going right down to the 17th and 18th holes. After some great golf from both teams, the Ladies secured an overall 6–5 win.

Following the match, John Marchant, the Seniors Captain, presented the trophy to Ladies Vice Captain Charlotte Cook.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success. Special thanks also to the Golf Team for providing excellent food for all competitors afterwards.

Our Bainbridge team travelled to Bedale last night and delivered an outstanding performance to secure a superb team away win.

Reflecting on the result, Bainbridge Captain Justin Bishop said: “What an achievement that was last night, beyond I think any of our expectations! Two games left, one game at a time, one shot at a time - a real solid team victory. The Senior Wharldall makes his Bainbridge debut into Bainbridge making a family full house.”

A fantastic effort from the whole team and a huge thank you to our supporters who came to watch.

Club Captains Trophy Results

On a beautiful sunny Father’s Day, 13 of Rudding Park’s Club Captains took to the course to compete for the prestigious Club Captains Trophy.

With perfect weather, the course in excellent condition and some impressive scoring, it proved to be a highly enjoyable day of golf.

Andy Hamilton, Club Captain for 2025, finished runner-up with a very creditable 37 points. However, the winner for the second time was 2015 Captain Matt Jackson, who produced an excellent score of 40 points to claim the trophy.

David Liversedge (2022 Captain) won Nearest the Pin on the 8th hole.

Congratulations to all the prize winners.

Following the competition, the Captains enjoyed lunch in the Clubhouse, reflecting on a memorable day of golf and great company.

Junior Salver and Justin Rose Qualifier Results

Congratulations to all the players who took part in this year’s Junior Salver on Sunday 21 June, with some excellent scoring across the field.

The overall winner was George Preece with an outstanding nett 66. Isobel Welborn finished in second place with a nett 68, while Joshua Patrick claimed third place with a nett 72.

The competition also served as a Justin Rose Qualifier, with the lowest gross score earning entry into the draw for a chance to compete in the Grand Final. This honour went to Tom Wharldall, who recorded a superb gross 77.

Well done to all our prize winners and competitors for a fantastic day of golf.

Rudding Park Golf Academy, Repton Short Course and Practice area - Temporary Closure

You hopefully will have seen on Rudding Park Hotel socials outlining the exciting transformation planned for the Golf Academy area.

As part of these developments, the Golf Academy and Driving Range will be closed on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 June while essential work is carried out.

The Golf Academy Shop will then be closed from Monday 22 June until Friday 17 July. During this period, the Driving Range will remain fully operational and available for use as normal, with only the Academy Shop affected by the temporary closure.

These improvements form part of an exciting new chapter for golf at Rudding Park. The redevelopment will create an enhanced experience for both members and guests, with a vibrant, social and welcoming environment designed to bring people together through golf, food, drink and friendly competition.

This Yorkshire Day, on Saturday 1 August, we will unveil Gimme Golf – a completely new experience that combines everything you already love about golf at Rudding Park with a dedicated social space, dining, interactive competitions and a leaderboard that is sure to spark some healthy rivalry.

There is much more to come, and we look forward to sharing further updates with you over the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience and support while we make these exciting improvements.

What a fantastic Captains’ Day at Rudding Park Golf Club, with more than 100 members coming together to support 'Saint Michael's Hospice.

Captains John Burks and Katherine Fenton got the day underway with their traditional Drive-In, setting the tone for a memorable day. Congratulations to Dave Fletcher, who correctly guessed the combined distance of the two drives.

Players then headed out for a shotgun start, ready to take on the Texas Scramble format with a few twists along the way. Alongside the golf, members enjoyed a variety of fundraising activities including the Chipping Challenge, Stu Rice's attempt to drive the 13th green, and an extensive raffle.

Following play, everyone returned to the clubhouse where Travis and the team served a superb BBQ before the raffle draw took place. Congratulations to all our prize winners and thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and supported the fundraising efforts throughout the day.

The scoring was exceptional, with an average nett score of 59.8 and a best gross score of 57. Competition Results:

As we look forward to a fantastic Captains’ Day tomorrow in aid of Saint Michael’s Hospice, we would like to extend our special thanks to all our generous sponsors.

We're delighted to congratulate Travis Hutchinson, our Head Chef pictured on the right, on being named Employee of the Month.

Since joining the team, Travis has made a tremendous impact through his fresh ideas. His recently launched Summer Clubhouse Menu has already been receiving fantastic feedback from members and visitors alike, and we encourage everyone to come along and give it a try.

Today, Travis and the golf team welcomed DSD Construction for their annual golf day, delivering an outstanding BBQ feast for more than 70 guests. The event was a great success and showcased the hard work and hospitality that Travis and the Golf Team bring to everything they do.
