Spain is bracing for its first major heatwave of the summer, with highs of 38C forecast for Sevilla and 30C-plus weather sweeping across much of the country.

A heat dome rolling in from Africa will push temperatures 5C to 10C above seasonal norms, building gradually from Monday and peaking on Friday…

👑 Did you know the names of the Three Kings?

Every year in Spain, Los Reyes Magos are the real stars of Christmas… but do you know who they actually are and what each one represents? 👇

👑 Melchor
Melchor is the oldest of the Three Kings and traditionally represents Europe.
He brought gold to baby Jesus — a gift symbolising royalty, leadership, and power.
Melchor is often seen as the wisest and calmest king and usually leads the Cabalgata de Reyes parades across Spain.

👑 Gaspar
Gaspar is usually portrayed as the youngest king and represents Asia.
His gift was frankincense, symbolising divinity and spirituality.
Gaspar is often shown as cheerful and kind — and during parades, he’s famous for waving to the crowds and throwing sweets 🍬

👑 Baltasar
Baltasar represents Africa and brought myrrh, symbolising humanity and protection.
He is incredibly popular with children in Spain and is often said to be the king who brings the most exciting gifts 🎁
In many towns, Baltasar steals the show during the parades!

🎉 In Spain, the Three Kings arrive on the night of January 5th, with magical parades in every city and town, and children wake up on January 6th (Día de Reyes) to find their presents.

💡 For many families, Reyes Day is even more important than Christmas Day!
