A cosy hut, a crackling log burner and a little time away in Hathersage 🌿🔥

If you’ve been meaning to book a countryside break, our luxury shepherd huts at The Plough Inn offer a lovely place to settle in and take things at your own pace. Designed for two people, they combine the character of a shepherd hut with stylish accommodation and the comforts that make a night away feel special.

Spend the day exploring the Peak District, taking a walk or enjoying a leisurely afternoon in Hathersage, then head back to The Plough for something to eat before retreating to your hut. With your own log burner and a fully plumbed-in shower and toilet, you can get comfortable and enjoy an evening with no rush to head home.

There’s breakfast to look forward to, too. A home-cooked full English or Continental breakfast is included in your stay, so you can start the next morning well before deciding where the day will take you.

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, celebrating an occasion or simply making time for a change of scenery, we’d love to welcome you.

Stays are £140 per night for two people sharing, or £110 for single occupancy, including breakfast.

Just a reminder that despite the current road closure between Grindleford and Hathersage, The Plough is very much OPEN as usual for food, drinks and overnight stays.

You can still reach us easily:

From Sheffield – come via the A6187 into Hathersage as normal.

From Hope, Castleton and Bamford – approach through Hathersage and continue towards The Plough.

From the Grindleford, Calver and Bakewell direction – please follow the signed diversion and approach us via Abney. Or for a longer route for larger vehicles, stay on the main road through Grindleford and follow it to The Fox House, then turn left to Hathersage.

The current closure is scheduled to remain in place until Friday 16 October, when the road is expected to reopen.

So please don’t let the road signs put you off – we're still open, and we’d love to see you! Our garden has never been quieter to relax with the perfect pint or glass of w**e 🍽️🍺

Blue Seven Jazz are still set to perform here at The Plough on Saturday 5 September, from 3pm, and we’re looking forward to an afternoon of great live music.

Performing live on Monday 31 August, from 3pm, Tavira is a Sheffield-based eight-piece funk and soul band that blends a funky soul groove with a sprinkling of reggae.

Their unique vocals and harmonies are blended with a cultured brass and rhythm section.

They perform at venues around Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, including the recent Tramlines Festival, and we look forward to welcoming them to The Plough Inn.

No need to book — just turn up on the day, order a drink from our horse box bar and enjoy the music of Tavira in our large b**r garden.
