Performing live on Monday 31 August, from 3pm, Tavira is a Sheffield-based eight-piece funk and soul band that blends a funky soul groove with a sprinkling of reggae.

Their unique vocals and harmonies are blended with a cultured brass and rhythm section.

They perform at venues around Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, including the recent Tramlines Festival, and we look forward to welcoming them to The Plough Inn.

No need to book — just turn up on the day, order a drink from our horse box bar and enjoy the music of Tavira in our large beer garden.

Unfortunately, due to the forecast weather conditions, today’s live performance has been cancelled.

We know many of you were looking forward to an afternoon of fantastic live music, and we’re just as disappointed as you are, but the safety and comfort of our customers, performers and staff must come first.

We’d like to thank Bethany Grace for her understanding and support, and we hope to welcome her back to The Plough very soon.

Live music returns to The Plough this Saturday! 🎶

We’re looking forward to welcoming the brilliant Bethany Grace back to The Plough this Saturday 29th August, performing live in our front garden from 3pm.

Enjoy your Saturday afternoon at The Plough — great live music, a drink in hand and plenty of time to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere in the heart of Hathersage.

Make an afternoon of it and join us for something to eat from our new seasonal menu, enjoy a pint, a glass of wine or something sparkling, and settle in for an afternoon of live music with Bethany.

We're delighted to welcome Emilia Hill back to The Plough Inn, who will be performing live today, Saturday 22 August, from 3pm.

With her unique acoustic style and beautiful vocals, Emilia will provide the perfect soundtrack to a relaxing summer afternoon here in Hathersage.

Gather your friends, enjoy great food and refreshing drinks, and take in the stunning countryside views while listening to live music in one of the Peak District’s most beautiful pub gardens.

We're delighted to announce that our courtyard has been sponsored by Nyetimber Wines, producers of world-renowned English sparkling wine.

They have provided branded blankets, parasols and glasses, in which we will be serving their excellent range of sparkling wines, all detailed on their website: www.nyetimber.com

If you're planning to be entertained by the fabulous Robert James Blues, who will be performing live on our front garden, tomorrow from 3pm, why not treat yourself to a glass of Nyetimber's sparkling wine that might just put champagne in the shade.

Come and witness the dramatic partial solar eclipse today at our horse box bar.

The dramatic partial solar eclipse will occur this evening, 12 August 2026, when the moon will cover 90% to 95% of the sun.

This rare cosmic event will begin just before 6:00pm and will peak at around 7:10 PM to 7:15 PM BST, and ends near 8:00 PM BST just prior to sunset.

The next solar eclipse visible from the UK will be a partial solar eclipse on 2 August 2027, but stargazers in the UK will have to wait until 2090 to experience the next total solar eclipse.

Please take care not to look directly at the sun at any point during the eclipse; the only safe way is using solar eclipse glasses or a pin-hole camera.
