Like the land I also feel more alive and excited by the signs.

We’re celebrating the fact we are heading into the 10th season of the campsite and sharing some good memories.

Aurora Borealis light displays were seen above Pembrokeshire last night.

Excitedly I arrived back home in the evening and made everyone come outside to see.

The light grew with intensity and danced about the sky! An extraordinary sight, and magical to see from the field. It was possible to see it with the naked eye.

Happy New Year!

It’s ok if you’re not feeling ready to come out of hibernation. Very normal. But here’s just a little reminder that the evenings are getting lighter, and warm days will come again.

And it’s good to think about camping out!

Golden hues now… the sun is setting, the Summer departing, slowly letting go, Solva walks.

Have you ever seen one of these!??

I was at the end my change over clean, walking up the hill from the yurt and I saw this humongous lime green caterpillar. I didn’t have my phone on me so I legged it back to the house, chucked the dirty laundry aside and announced to the kids there was an extraordinary caterpillar worth running to see.. I was worried it would have disappeared into the undergrowth from where I’d seen it.

Out of breath and panting, I ran back pretty delighted to see the exotic creature still moving across the path. The girls followed, so excited! It did get a little scared, so we did leave it alone to continue their journey into the undergrowth.

The Privet Hawk-Moth caterpillar, 🐛
Known for its large torpedo shaped body, lime in colour with striking white and purple stripes on the body. The head has a dark ring around it, the tail, a large pointy sharp looking horn in yellow and black.

I’m 43, I’ve NEVER seen one of these before. Have you? It was about 8.5cm. That’s how long they get. Food wise, they love the Ash, Holly, leaves of privet, honeysuckle and lilac.

We all feel it, we all want to see an end to the genocide of the people of Gaza. It’s got to stop. We’ve all got to do what we feel we can in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

We donate, we protest, we boycott Israeli goods, we fly the Palestinian flag. I’m not really a flag person, but right now, it feels important to us to fly the Palestinian flag. We love all children, all people. Let’s lead with Love ❤️
