Pitch 5, freshly mown and ready to go.

At the moment it’s looking very neat, very peaceful and very empty. But not for long, as its next guests will be arriving later and making it home for a few days.

A huge pitch, your own picnic table, water right beside you and plenty of space to settle in and enjoy camping on the Pembrokeshire coast.

All that’s missing now is the tent/caravan, Campervan or rooftent!

Pitch 4

Pup tents, a rooftop tent, two cars… and still plenty of room.

That’s one of the things our campers notice about the pitches at Abercastle. There’s space for your whole set-up without feeling as though you’re camping on top of your neighbours.

Pitch 4 has a picnic table, water close by and optional electric hook-up. There’s a fire pit too, although these are currently out of use while the fire ban remains in place.

And once everything’s set up, there’s still a lot of grass left!

On Lands Edge a festival of the arts unlike anything else you’ll experience in Pembrokeshire.

Pitch 3 looking very smart with its current guests.

We do love seeing how everyone makes their pitch their own, and this lovely caravan has certainly settled nicely into Pitch 3.

There’s still loads of room around it too, which is one of the things our campers really appreciate about the pitches at Abercastle.

Each comes with its own picnic table, water close by, a fire pit (not currently in use because of the fire ban) and optional electric hook-up.

Pitch 2, with plenty of room to make yourself at home.

A bell tent, campervan and still all that space around them. It gives you a pretty good idea of what we mean when we say our pitches are big.

Like all our pitches, Pitch 2 has its own picnic table, water close by and a fire pit, although the fire pits aren’t currently in use due to the fire ban. Optional electric hook-up is available too.

And with the banks around the pitch, you get a bit of shelter and your own patch of Abercastle for your stay.

Pitch 1.

One of our lovely big pitches, with plenty of room to spread out rather than squeezing everything into a little rectangle of grass.

You’ve got water right by the pitch, your own picnic table and plenty of space for tents, chairs, dogs, children and all the other stuff that somehow comes camping with you.

And once you’re set up, Abercastle harbour and the coast path are just a few minutes away.

Saturday. What are we doing then?

Hiking a stretch of the coast path? Kayaking around the coves? Coasteering off the Pembrokeshire cliffs? Surfing at Newgale? Paddleboarding from Abercastle harbour? Cycling the coast roads? Or grabbing the swimming gear and heading for the sea?

There’s no shortage of ways to fill a Saturday around here.

And when you’ve walked, paddled, surfed, cycled or swum enough for one day, it’s back to your pitch at Abercastle, feet up and something good to eat.

Ready to do it all again tomorrow?

There’s a particular moment on the first day of a camping weekend.

The tent’s up. The chairs are out. The kettle’s on. Someone’s found the biscuits.

And suddenly there’s absolutely nothing that needs doing.

Maybe you’ll wander down to Abercastle later. Maybe you’ll sit there for another hour. Nobody’s keeping score.

That’s Friday sorted.
