“An absolute gem of a campsite in Pembrokeshire!

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Abercastle Campsite, and it truly was everything you could want for a coastal getaway.

The site itself is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The pitch sizes are incredibly generous - sheltered by lovely hedgerows that give you plenty of privacy and breathing room, complete with your own dedicated power, water tap, picnic table, and fire pit.

The facilities were spotlessly clean at all times throughout our stay (a real credit to Anne, who is such a welcoming and attentive host).

Location-wise, it couldn't be better: just a short walk down to Abercastle harbour and cove, with seamless access directly onto the Pembrokeshire Coast Path for incredible walking and beach views.

This is how UK camping should be done. We couldn't fault a single thing and will definitely be back!

Some evenings at Abercastle don’t need much explaining.

The boats barely moving on the water, the harbour settling down for the night and the last of the light disappearing behind the headland.

And all of this just a few minutes’ walk down the lane from the campsite.

There’s a whole little world hiding in the rockpools.

Tiny fish darting between the stones, crabs tucked into corners, shells, seaweed and all sorts of things waiting to be spotted.

One of those simple seaside things that can keep children, and quite a few adults, happily occupied for ages.

There are plenty of rocky coves and beaches to explore along this stretch of the Pembrokeshire coast. Just add a bucket, sensible shoes and a bit of curiosity.

"This is a perfect campsite to relax and take in the stunning Pembrokeshire coast.

The site is intimate, for those not wanting to be overrun with masses of people on holiday. Suitable for families and couples alike. We were on a pitch with just one other camper and had all the space needed including a garden table and chairs and fire pit (although not allowed at present due to risk of fire)

Anne the owner is very friendly, she was on site when we arrived and throughout our stay to help with anything we needed. Facilities were very clean, showers hot, could not want for more.

So many beautiful beaches on your doorstep cannot recommend it enough"

There seems to be an unwritten rule in Pembrokeshire…

If the sun’s out, an ice cream is almost compulsory.

Whether you’ve spent the morning walking the Coast Path, exploring hidden coves, or just enjoying a lazy day by the sea, there’s always room for one more stop before heading back to your pitch.

After all, holidays are made up of the little moments you’ll remember long after the suitcases are unpacked.

If you're at the beach - know your flags!

This could save your life on holiday 🚩

Beach flags exist for a reason - but so many of us (adults included!) don’t actually know what they all mean.

Before you head off this summer, take two minutes to swipe through and chat with your kids about what to look out for at the beach. It’s a small thing that makes a really big difference 🌊

Some of the best holiday memories are made with nothing more complicated than a bucket and spade.

Building sandcastles, digging enormous holes, collecting shells for decoration and fetching endless buckets of seawater for the moat.

With miles of beautiful sandy beaches around Pembrokeshire, there’s plenty of room for little builders. And the grown-ups who inevitably get just as involved.

Simple seaside fun. The sort of thing childhood holidays and memories are made of.

There’s something rather special about stepping outside your tent at night and looking up.

Away from the street lights and towns, Pembrokeshire’s dark skies make stargazing part of the camping experience. Give your eyes a few minutes to adjust and suddenly there are stars everywhere.

No telescope needed. Just a clear night, a dark sky and perhaps a chair outside your tent.

​This campsite is a absolute little gem—the private pitches are massive, the facilities are top-notch, and the entire place is incredibly well-maintained. The surrounding area is just stunning, offering fantastic coastal walks, breathtaking beaches, and beautiful nearby towns and villages to explore, including the lovely city of St Davids.
