Chy An Mor

Directions

Chy An Mor Home from home, 3 beds and dog friendy bungalow, a mile from Hayle, on the edge of Upton Towans and Gwithian Dunes, 20 min walk to an amazing beach.

Chi An Mor means house by the sea. We are just starting out so this is an ongoing development and feedback is welcome. We wish it to be a home from home and are doing our best to keep prices down with the support and consideration of those who stay. To this end we are trialing a "leave as you wish to find" We have a selection of towel’s bedding that if used we ask to wash and dry and beds left for next visitor, also any of the basic food replaced. We can save over £100 a stay doing this. Wherever possible we will avoid you having to stick to traditional arrival and leaving times so you aren't stuck in traffic. The 3 bedrooms consist of a room that can be a Super King-sized bed or can be split into a Twin. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and the 3rd a single bed with a truckle bed that can be pulled out if needed. There is a spacious kitchen diner; the table sits 6 though we have another identical table we have put up to sit a snug 8. The lounge is also a good size and consists of a 2 and 3 seater sofa. We have a grass area at the front that can be driven or parked on if extra parking is needed. Although dog friendly we take no responsibility for them, any damage must be covered by the owners. We have wonderful neighbors and your consideration will be greatly appreciated especially if like our dogs they are a bit vocal.

Did you know the sand dunes nearby of Coast at Beachside have a fascinating story behind their name? 🌾

Mexico Towans takes its name from a tiny 19th-century cottage and smallholding called “Mexico”, which once stood among the dunes near Phillack.

The cottage was built or occupied by returning Cornish miners who had been working overseas in Mexico. It was officially recorded on the 1842 Phillack Tithe Map, and over time, the surrounding stretch of dunes became known by the same name.
