A few reviews from family groups we have had staying over the last few weeks:

"Our family of three children ranging from 18 months to nine years old had a wonderful stay. There is lots of space and privacy in a beautiful setting. The tent was very comfortable and despite big storms every night we were dry and cosy in the tent. Cooking on the fire pit was a joy and there is lots to do in the local area."

"Lovely place, tucked away with wonderful views. Tents were great well stocked with cooking utensils ect. Caroline and her husband were great hosts and really accommodating. Tents can get cold at night so take warm socks! We had a fantastic two night break with them. Would go again and recommend. The children in our party had so much fun being able to run around unrestricted! Thank you!"

We've almost been too busy to share our latest reviews!

“A lovely stay in Vines Cross. The bell tents are a great size and it was so nice being able to hire out both tents and get the field all to ourselves! Loads of room to set up our badminton net and great to lay around enjoying the sunshine. Fab area with some really good pubs nearby and only a few miles from the nearest supermarkets. Thanks for having us!! ”

It was a busy weekend here, fully booked Friday and Saturday nights!

Friday night we had a group of seven French bikers on a road trip! They were great, and they seemed to like it here too:

"Caroline and Simon were great hosts. We had a really good time on their bell tents. Everything was clean and it was amazing to be able to do a BBQ. It's a very quiet place.I will recommend it. Many thanks to both of you. ”

Saturday night we had our first family with a young child to stay, again all went well:

"Camping for cheats; high on comfort, low on effort! Peaceful surroundings, good night sleep on comfy bed, bathroom facilities close by, fire pit for dinner, gas stove for morning coffee, shops a short drive away for provisions. Caroline was a great host; friendly, welcoming, there if needed, but not at all intrusive. Recommended.”

More happy guests in the nautical tent:

"Just under 2 hours away from London, and you've got the perfect weekend adventure ahead of you! I really enjoyed my stay, and the bed was so comfortable, the toilet was clean. I had to skip past wild rabbits, on the way to the restroom! This made my day :) We were lucky enough to BBQ our dinner, lovely butcher/local produce within 5 mins away... And the perfect host who made sure that we had everything we needed! Thank you Caroline. x"

The nautical tent had its first visitors at the weekend, who reviewed their visit as follows:

“Lovely location and a very peaceful stay. The Yurt was set up beautifully and everything we needed (plates, cups ect) readily available. We would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet in more unusual accommodation. The owners couldn't be lovelier, and even offered to make us a cuppa when the wonderful British weather tried (but failed) to put out our morning BBQ. Enjoy your stay, We certainly did ”

Second review from airbnb:

“Caroline and Simon (and Mungo their adorable dog) greeted us with the warmest of welcomes. The site is idyllic in the dip of calm, hidden valley. The bell tent is equipped with all the necessaries for ultimate simple luxury: a proper, big, super comfy bed; picnic baskets of crockery, pots and pans; a super cute (and fast boiling on a tiny fire) kettle for your morning cuppa and actual glass wine glasses! We spent the most relaxing evening sitting at our picnic table, barbecuing on our fire pit and watching the stars to the sound of far off summer lambs bleating in the night. The perfect stay was rounded off with a lovely hot indoor shower and dressing room to see us off to a christening the next day!! ”

Had our first booking via Airbnb last weekend, and the impartial review reads as follows:

“Caroline and her partner were great hosts. Very friendly and they made an extremely wet weekend a lot more lovely. The site is super peaceful and the hot shower and dry room is only a short dash away. Fresh eggs from the roaming chickens just about topped off the trip!! Definitely recommend this stay to anyone hoping for a relaxing piece of countryside!”
