Welcome to our story....
Our welcoming bed and breakfast with 8 lovely rooms, and delicious locally sourced breakfasts, is located in the market town of Helmsley. We are passionate about being in the heart of the spectacular North York Moors National Park and have a genuine love for the great outdoors ourselves. Due to our excellent location we offer the perfect base for explorers, walkers, cyclists, runners, dark sky gazers, foodies and families. However, if you are simply looking to escape and recharge the batteries, we are only a short stroll away from tranquil valleys offering magical pockets of solitude.
We’re officially Walking Friendly so if you’re a leisurely day hiker, or a Cleveland Way walker, you’ll be well looked after by us. Plus, we have two rooms set aside for your four-legged friends. Alongside the Cleveland Way, you’ll find the Ebor Way, Inn Way to the North York Moors, Abbey Way and charming Tabular Hills Walk on our doorstep.
You can securely store your bicycles, charge up your electric bikes and use our trusty Belfast sink to wash your muddy tyres, boots or paws. Plus, we’ve facilities to dry your waterproofs, if you get caught in a Yorkshire shower, and happily fill your flask for the day.
Helmsley’s beautiful ancient square and castle ruins is a short stroll from us. Here you’ll discover a wonderful variety of local delicatessens, bakers, butchers, bookshops, florists and cosy tearooms. The wonderful North York Moors Heritage Railway, everyone’s favourite steam train, is a short drive away in neighbouring Pickering. Whilst the atmospheric abbeys of Riveaux and Byland, the medieval city of York and the foodie town of Malton are all true Yorkshire gems just waiting to be discovered.
