We are so pleased and honoured to have been awarded Best Bar at the 2026 Trencherman’s Awards.

After a challenging year for hospitality and for Kota— this recognition means so much to Jude and the entire team. To be acknowledged by such prestigious awards is incredibly special, but knowing the award was voted for by the public makes it mean even more.

Refining and honing our drinks offer has been a real focus for us over the last few years, so to see that hard work recognised in this way is incredibly rewarding.

We want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our loyal customers who have supported us over the past 20 years. Your loyalty and support over the years has helped shape Kota into what it is today.

We’re incredibly excited for what’s next — and we can’t wait to share the journey with you.

Why not pop in and see us in our new home, enjoy one of our delicious cocktails or carefully chosen wines, all with a view of the harbour.

We’re incredibly proud to be named a finalist in the Best Bar List category at the 2026 Trencherman’s Awards.

In a year that’s brought change and challengez, one thing we’ve remained committed to is consistency — in quality & in experience.

Dan and Jude work hard with passion and creativity to keep our list evolving — thoughtful, exciting, and always true to Kota.

~A little announcement from us~

Over the past few months, Kota has been operating from the old lounge room at Kota Kai, sharing the kitchen and working alongside our sister team. The response from guests has been incredibly positive, and the teams have quickly settled into working together as one.

After careful thought, we’ve decided to make this our permanent home — two restaurants under one roof.

At a time when the hospitality industry continues to face real challenges, we feel incredibly fortunate to be able to make this move in a way that supports our teams while allowing both restaurants to thrive side by side.

You’ll still find Jude in the kitchen, with Elle and the Kota front-of-house team leading service and delivering the same experience guests know and love.

Two restaurants, two styles — now sharing one home here in Porthleven.

All existing bookings remain unchanged and will simply take place in our shared home at Kota Kai. If you have any questions or concerns about an upcoming reservation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the team.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support

Tucked quietly under the same roof as our sister restaurant - Kota Food & Wine remains very much its own space.

Nestled in the end room with views across the harbour, it’s an intimate setting, the perfect spot to enjoy our tasting menu, featuring the best seasonally sourced local ingredients all matched with exceptional wines.

Date night, solo dinner, or something worth celebrating — whatever the occasion, book a table and pop in to see Jude and the team.

We’re incredibly proud that Kota has once again been recognised by the Michelin Guide, and as we head towards the 20th anniversary of opening our doors, it feels especially meaningful.

As the hospitality industry continues to evolve, adapting, while staying true to who we are isn’t always easy — but it’s something we’re deeply proud of.

This recognition is always a special one for our team - thank you to them, and to everyone who continues to support us.

Kota is now closed until February half term as we pause, reset, and give our brilliant team some well-earned time off.

For winter, we’ve happily settled into our seasonal home in the end room of Kota Kai, where we’ll be reopening in February..

Thank you for all your support throughout 2025, it’s a challenging time navigating hospitality at the moment & we are very grateful for the ongoing loyalty and support.

We’ll be back soon, but in the meantime will be open Thursday through to Sunday throughout January.
