An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Grounds Person to join our dedicated and supportive maintenance team on our three beautiful, family-run, 5-star holiday parks.

Discover Parks is a group of three 5-star Caravan Holiday and Living Parks with leisure facilities, Bar and restaurant, self-catering accommodation, touring caravan pitches and Holiday Homes for sale set in beautiful tranquil, rural surroundings in Herefordshire and the Welsh borders.

Job brief:
As a Grounds Person you must be able to take on a wide number of tasks, from general grounds maintenance, new projects, reacting to adverse weather conditions through to general maintenance. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude, a flexible approach, and be willing to help other team members when necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the park. Problem-solving and professionalism should come naturally to you, with a focus on positive outcomes. We are looking for someone who is confident, positive, takes pride in their work, and has a healthy sense of humour. With the aim of providing our parks with excellent grounds, whilst maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety.

Responsible for:
• Ensuring all aspects of the Park grounds are to a five-star standard
• Mowing and strimming of extensive Park grounds
• Leaf collecting
• Assist with creating planting schemes & nature schemes for wildlife
• Planting and tree care
• Maintaining hedgerows, bushes and shrubs
• Weeding and spraying
• Fencing and path maintenance
• Carrying out and monitoring of equipment checks
• Assist in co-ordinating grounds and gardening tasks within the team

Essential skills/requirements and
behaviours:

• Experience with a large range of grounds commercial machinery
• Health & Safety conscious at all times
• Confident problem solver with a flexible approach
• Confident with moving a large size-range of trailers

• Full (clean) driving license

Desirable skills:
• PA1 PA6 spraying ticket
• Chainsaw ticket
• IOSH working Safely

We operate 7 days a week (including Bank Holidays) and so we are looking for someone who can be flexible.

This is a permanent position, with some seasonal variation in hours

Responsible for:

· Managing the Housekeeping team

· Training team members

· Creating excellent first impressions

· Superb levels of cleanliness

· Preparing rotas and allocating jobs

· Linen ordering and stock control

· Cleaning materials and equipment

· Ensuring excellent attention to detail

· Ensuring best practice and standards are adhered to

Required skills and behaviours:

· Proven management/supervisory experience

Working with our Sales Manager you would be responsible for the sales experience, including; achieving sales, sales admin and literature, following up on sales leads, promoting sales to existing guests, and aftersales care and warranty. You will also assist the front of house team in ensuring the smooth running of the Park reception.

Wonders of the Border sees Good Morning Britain and BBC Countryfile Extra presenter Sean Fletcher visit more than 50 locations along the 177-mile National Trail – and we understand that Herefordshire will feature highly this week and next!
