A lovely start to Friday morning here at The Millpond!

It was a pleasure to welcome the ladies from the Tarrington Pilates Group for coffee this morning.

There's nothing quite like a good catch-up over a cuppa, and we're always delighted to see local groups making The Millpond their meeting place.

Now, we know there isn't a great deal of the 2026 season left, but that doesn't mean you can't start thinking about your next fishing adventure!

13th October… and we honestly cannot believe we're writing this, but… WE NEED SOME RAIN!

Yes, you read that correctly! Here at The Millpond, we're actually wishing for a good old-fashioned downpour!

The water level in The Millpond is getting rather low, and what we really need now is some decent rainfall to help top it back up.

It's not often you hear a camping and caravanning site asking for rain, especially in October, but here we are!

So, while everyone else might be hoping for a few more days of autumn sunshine, we're keeping our fingers crossed for a proper soaking.

Anyone know a good rain dance? We might need to organise one! maybe on our season end Halloween fancy dress celebrations? are you there?

A little off the top, please!

The reeds are getting their autumn trim here at The Millpond, with the machinery making light work of cutting back the growth around the water.

There’s always something to keep us busy behind the scenes, keeping the grounds looking lovely for everyone who visits. The season may be slowing down, but the jobs list certainly isn’t!

There’s still time to enjoy an autumn stay with us — and join us for our Halloween Fancy Dress on Saturday 31st October, our final charity event of 2026. A chance to dress up, have a laugh and celebrate another wonderful season together.

Millpond Bar Autumn Opening Hours

Our bar hours arehave changed as we head towards the end of the 2026 season.
Fridays & Saturdays
6.00pm – 9.00pm
Please note, our final bar night of the season will be Friday, 6th November 2026.
So there are still a few Friday and Saturday evenings left to join us for a drink before we call last orders on another season at The Millpond.

A little look at some of the sweet treats waiting for you in The Millpond Coffee Shop.

If you fancy something with your coffee, we have plenty to tempt you, including Rocky Road, Carrot Cake, Blueberry Muffins, Fruit Scones, Berry White Donuts, and even a lovely Cream Tea if you want to make more of a treat of it.

Whether you are stopping by for a quick coffee and cake, meeting friends, or just feel like treating yourself, there is always something worth making room for.

Wullie to the rescue!

A duck caught up in fishing line amongst the lily pads had Wullie heading out on a rescue mission here at The Millpond.

We love sharing our little corner of Herefordshire with the wildlife that calls it home, so please help us look after it. Always take discarded fishing line, hooks and tackle away with you, and let the team know if you spot an animal in trouble.

One last big night

We’re not quite ready to call time on 2026 just yet.

Before the season comes to an end, we’ve still got one final charity event to enjoy — our Halloween Fancy Dress night on Saturday 31st October.

It’s our last charity event of the year and we’re hoping to finish the season in true Millpond style.

Fancy dress, a great atmosphere and one final big night together before we start winding things down for winter.

Then it’s into our final week, with the last bar of the season on Friday 6th November, the Coffee Shop closing after Saturday 7th November and the site itself closing at 12 noon on Sunday 8th November.

One final blowout before another wonderful season comes to a close.

The season is starting to wind down

It hardly seems possible, tomorrow is October!! so we’re beginning to head into the final few weeks of another season here at The Millpond.

There is still plenty of time to visit us, stay with us and enjoy everything the site has to offer, but the countdown is now officially on.

Our final charity event of 2026 takes place on Saturday 31st October with our Halloween Fancy Dress night — a proper end-of-season blowout and one last chance to get everyone together before we close the gates for winter.

Then, during our final week:

Coffee Shop – last day Saturday 7th November
Bar – last bar of the season Friday 6th November
The site closes at 12 noon on Sunday 8th November

So if you’ve been meaning to squeeze in one last visit, now is the time.

If you’re staying with us at The Millpond this upcomiong weekend, and looking for something a little different to do while you’re in Herefordshire, this could make a great afternoon out.

The Museum of C***r in Hereford is hosting Perryfest on Saturday 3rd October, including a free talk and tasting with Gabe Cook, The C***rologist.

The session, “The Many Fibs and Fables of Perry”, runs from 2pm to 3pm and explores the stories, traditions and character behind one of Herefordshire’s best-known drinks.

A nice opportunity to discover a little more about the county, enjoy something local and add another stop to your Herefordshire stay.

Places are free, although booking is required through Eventbrite.
