A little news we’re rather proud of… ⭐

Earlier this month, The Rhydspence was rated an AA 4 Star Inn and awarded an AA Rosette for our food!

A fantastic achievement for our whole team, with a special mention to our Head Chef, Paige. So much hard work, care and creativity goes into what we do, and it’s wonderful to see that recognised.

You’ll have to use your imagination for the photo… we’re still waiting for the Rosette plate to arrive, so please picture it being held proudly in Paige’s hands! 🍽️😂

As the weather slowly changes, so does our menu. 🍂

Our sweetcorn soup, served with cavolo crisps and pickled cucumber, brings a little comfort to the changing season.

🎄 We know, it’s still September and we didn’t want to mention Christmas just yet either… but our key party dates are already beginning to fill up!

Our Christmas party menu begins on 26 November, with three delicious courses for £42 per person for parties of 8 or above.

Whether you’re organising the work Christmas party or planning a festive get-together with family and friends, now is the time to book your table.

🍽️ WE’RE HIRING – KITCHEN PORTER

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our small, friendly team at The Rhydspence Inn, near Hay-on-Wye.

The role will include:
• Washing up and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
• Helping with deliveries and general kitchen duties
• Supporting the chefs during preparation and service
• Following food hygiene and safety procedures

Previous kitchen experience would be helpful, but it isn’t essential—we’re much more interested in finding someone dependable, positive and willing to get stuck in.

The role will include evening and weekend shifts.

We offer a competitive rate of pay, tips, staff discounts, training and opportunities to progress.
