Breakfast at the Castle Hotel in Hereford with my grandma, up before the rush, when everything felt calm and unhurried.

The room was peaceful, the coffee was strong, and the food was absolutely delicious, one of those slow, cosy starts that makes the day feel special in this miserable weather.

If you’re visiting the Barn in Herefordshire, this is definitely one of those good places to eat that’s worth getting up early for. Warm atmosphere, great food, and even better company. Simple, quiet, and just really lovely.
