Meet our new friend, Amber! 🐴❤️

A beautiful 4-week-old Shetland Pony born in the field next to Middles Cottage 🥹

And that’s not even the best news…

Our neighbours have officially received their Pony Petting Licence, meaning visitors (especially our guests 👀) can now visit the farm, spend time with the ponies and enjoy plenty of cuddles along the way!

Amber spent 30 minutes playing with us, requesting back tickles and completely stole our hearts ❤️

It’s been a very busy few weeks at Staycation Escapes…both cottages fully booked throughout 🙌

We’ve hosted everything from birthday celebrations and anniversaries to family get-togethers and Easter escapes 🐣

And honestly… we wouldn’t change a thing.

We’re incredibly grateful to every guest who trusts us to be part of their Northumberland escape ❤️

Spring is starting in Northumberland and we’ve managed to squeeze in a few walks with actual blue skies💙

From golden sunrises along the coast to wildflowers blooming beneath Bamburgh Castle, the season is starting to paint our countryside with the most beautiful colours. The hills are turning green, lambs will soon be dotting the fields, and the sea air feels just that little bit fresher.

While we spend most of the year welcoming guests to our little corner of Northumberland, we always try to find time to enjoy it ourselves whenever we can.

Cosy mornings, countryside walks, and a glass of something nice by the fire — the simple things that made us fall in love with this place in the first place.

Sometimes it rains 🤷‍♂️

But that never stops our guests from having the best time.

A recent message from a January guest says it all:

“We’ve arrived and it’s raining, but my husband and I have had the most wonderful day. We played board games, drank wine from the welcome hamper, enjoyed cheese from the local farm shop, and then sat in front of the fire.”
