🥹 I am honestly so excited and so proud to reveal another new feature to add to the Hiddle Hut guest experience this Summer! 😍 Introducing The Cubby! 🥂

🥰 There has always been a bench up here in the copse for guests to wander up and sit on and relax and enjoy the views but it lacked the romantic whimsy and shelter that this magical clearing deserves! 🤗 I’ve been searching for the perfect sturdy little sitting nook for the longest time but recently found this adorable one at 🪴 There are even arm rests that are the perfect spot to rest your cup or glass! ☕️ 🍹

🥂Now our guests can enjoy the scenery and landscape in all weathers while exploring the gardens and little woodland surrounding Hiddle Hut!! The scent of the pines and the sounds of the breeze blowing through branches along with the birdsong that accompanies you as you gaze on the forests and fells is enchanting- and we are passionate about sharing this with all of you! 💚 I can’t wait to see what you think about it! 🤗

💛 This may be controversial but I think the word luxury is over used in the short staycation sector. 🫣

💛 We pride ourselves in including only the best local products as part of your stay including and my own home baked treats as well as a welcome hamper with bread, some butter and milk as well as homemade jam, chocolate and snacks. 🍿 All teas and coffee are included in your stay as well as hot chocolate, whipped cream and marshmallows. ☕️

💛 🌅 I designed the hut so that the incredible views are maximised with seating areas to enjoy breakfast as the sun rises and a sundowner space for sunset drinks 🍸 The sauna faces west for the evening sunlight 🧖🏼‍♀️ and a stargazing window above the bed ensures a premium stargazing experience. ✨ 💫

💛 The gate through to our kitchen garden is always open for you to explore and to wander up into our little woodland copse to forest bathe or take one of our yoga mats up there to stretch and meditate in the pine scented air. 🌲 🧘🏼‍♀️

💛 With super fast broadband, central heating, a fully equipped kitchen and a comfy leather sofa in front of the log burner, whatever the weather, you will be supremely comfortable. 🔥

💛 It’s no surprise that our guests ask where they can buy the mattress and bedding that we have in the hut - it’s so luxurious that we bought it for ourselves too! 🪶 🛌

💛 provide the beautiful hand poured organic toiletries named Vindolanda that our guests adore.

🤗 We don’t do one night stays, never have, never will. I know it’s an unpopular decision of ours but it’s just not part of our sustainability mission. 🌍
Yes we would get loads more bookings if we did one nights but the amount of energy that would be used to create a one night stay is huge and we want to do our best for the planet! 💚

🥰 I am proud to say that I think our cabin is just too gorgeous and full of fabulous features to only spend one night here. We focus on providing our guests with five star bespoke stays for true relaxation and comfort and that doesn’t happen overnight!

🍴We also want to encourage our guests to explore and use local services and visit nearby towns and venues so that our local visitor economy is also supported. We also have the most amazing Roman sites, Hadrian’s Wall and breathtaking landscapes on our doorstep! Not forgetting critically acclaimed restaurants, Independent stores and an Artists Quarter in our local town of Hexham!

🚲 We are only 40 minutes from Newcastle and accessible by both train and bus. Bring your bike and explore the area and lock it away at night in our secure bike store. If you have an EV we have a charger that you can hook up to so no worries about exploring and getting charged up for the journey home! ⚡️

🪏As it’s Chelsea Flower Show week, I thought you might enjoy a tour of the Kitchen Garden. This time last year, Mr C and I were getting excited for our trip to London to wander through the show gardens. It’s a wonderful experience!

👩🏼‍🌾The evolution of our little field from derelict and overgrown to the gardens that you see now has involved many hours of hard work but has been and continues to be an absolute joy!

🪴When you are in the gardens, I want it to feel wild, untamed and part of the landscape. There are weeds, nettles and long swathes of grass as the wildlife and birds take priority here. The lighting around the hut is designed so that raptors and bats are not disturbed and can hunt safely at night. The hedges are all native species and chosen to feed the birds and provide shelter.

🦋 We encourage guests to explore the gardens and enjoy the space, to sit and take in the views, listen to the birds and smell the flowers. You can sketch the views using art materials provided in the hut or add an acrylic paints and canvas set to create a keepsake to add to your memories! 💚

🌅 Introducing: The Sundowner Space! 🥂
I said we’d been working hard to create something special to add to our guest experience! 🥰

😎Now our guests can sit in our new west facing chill out area to soak up the last rays of sunshine and watch the sunset before lighting the fire and waiting for the stars to reveal themselves! 🤩

💚 Using sustainable building solutions and materials is paramount for every project we undertake here so that our guests can feel part of the natural environment. Hiddle Hut sits in its own small field, not a manicured garden but a managed wild habitat where we encourage wildlife and native species to flourish and grow. These rustic Hazel screens create a small private space in this elevated corner of the field for our guests to sit under the shade of an ancient oak tree. 🌳

🫣 This project has been on hold and waiting in the wings since we first opened Hiddle Hut. 😬 It’s a space where Mr C and I used to sit in the evening enjoying a 🍷 🍷after long back breaking but wonderful days gardening, when Hiddle Hut was only a dream so it’s a really special place for us to share with our guests! 💚

☺️I took these videos just before Mr C had completed the assembly of our ‘new’ (they’ve been in storage for a few years 😕) lounge chairs and foot stools, so forgive me for jumping in to share the space before adding the permanent final touches! we discussed this space with you during your stay! We hope it lives up to your expectations! 🤗
