🎂 It is 4 years this weekend since we welcomed our very first guests at Hiddle Hut! 😝 😵‍💫😵 This gorgeous couple have since has 2 beautiful babies and are about to get married! 💕

😉 If you have followed us on socials for any length of time you will know and possibly understand the significance and importance of our Hiddle Hut, its origins and backstory and the community we have built around us. We have met wonderful guests and have made lasting bonds and beautiful friendships with incredible people who we have met through Instagram and through the hut! ☔️ It’s raining outside but you are cosy and warm, curled up with a book on the sofa in front of the log burner, listening to the raindrops dancing across the cabin roof and the stargazing window above the huge bed. 😌

🍂 It has been a brutal Summer in many ways - the constant heatwaves, the droughts, hosepipe bans, wild fires ..! We are so ready for Autumn- for snuggling, pulling on a jacket and boots to go out exploring, finding your thick woolly socks and lighting thr log burner to cosy up on the sofa! 🔥

😁Last big project of the year - pinky promise!!!

🗓️ 2026 has been a fantastic year for Hiddle Hut as we have undertaken some really big projects:

🧖🏼‍♀️Installation of the outdoor sauna and cold plunge- a hugely popular space for our guests!

🌅 We installed new landscaping to create the Sundowner Space where guests can enjoy a private sun trap!

🌳 We built our new woodland shelter seat in the copse called The Cubby which is perfect for enjoying a picnic while you take in the views!

🍕🍗 I designed (and the family all helped to build) our fantastic outdoor kitchen using reclaimed materials and featuring a brilliant pizza oven and BBQ!

🤝 I promise this is our last big project of the year but I KNOW that our guests are going to love this new feature in the hut!!!!

💫 Stargazing at The Hiddle Hut - Northumberland’s ultimate stargazing escape?

Tucked away in the village of Bardon Mill, just 10 miles from Hexham, myself and Northumberland Adventures recently had the pleasure of an evening under the stars at The Hiddle Hut - Northumberland, which is a one-of-a-kind stay designed around Northumberland’s amazing night sky.

Dark Sky accredited and Stay & Gaze approved, the hut sits beneath some of the darkest skies in Northumberland, with a stargazing roof right above the king-sized bed, outdoor viewing platforms and all the equipment you need for nights spent looking up.

You can make the evening a little more special and order a stargazing hot picnic, wrap up beneath the stars beside the fire pit, or spend the evening between the outdoor sauna and cold plunge. With very little light pollution in all directions, constellations, distant galaxies and our own Milky Way become clear to the naked eye. You may even be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights during your stay!

A beautiful escape for anyone who wants to switch off, slow down and experience the magic of Northumberland after dark, while enjoying the luxury of The Hiddle Hut. 💫

☀️ Its been a very hot, dry and busy Summer so far here at Hiddle HQ. I’ve hardly had a chance to look back and reflect on what has been quite a different season for us. However, it has been especially lovely to welcome back lots of guests for return stays this Summer. 🥰

💗We have one particular couple who have stayed at Hiddle Hut several times and who tied the knot yesterday 💍💒
They decided that as they have been together for many years that they didn’t need wedding gifts but instead asked friends and family for Hiddle Hut vouchers if they wanted to gift them anything! As a hospitality owner, I can’t think of a greater compliment than that! 🥹 Congratulations Steph & Phil! 😘

✅ What I do know is that we have completed lots of projects for the hut and at home as well as enjoying some monumental celebrations for family and friends. 🎂💒👰🏼‍♀️

🌌 The Milky Way is gleaming across the night sky at the moment and it never fails to lure me outside each night to lie on a sun lounger and admire its beauty! This Summer Mr.C has created another outdoor living room for the family to sit, eat and relax and enjoy the plentiful sunshine. We have been spending the past few evenings watching the Perseids meteor shower although I have failed miserably in trying to catch a photo of one! 😣💫

🥰 August is usually our ‘quiet’ month when we can safely assume that we can undertake maintenance and complete any outdoor projects but you lovely folks have kept us busy all month so far! We only have a few midweek dates available for the rest of this month! ☺️
