A little secret about the flowers at New Thornber…

Mum and I grow them ourselves 💐

From spring bulbs to late autumn stems, the vases in the cottage are filled with flowers from our gardens at home and my cutting garden.

There’s something so exciting about spotting the first spring bulbs pushing their heads through the soil 🌱 It means our flower season is just around the corner.

So when you arrive and see fresh flowers on the table, they really have been grown with love.

Tucked away behind a traditional Yorkshire Dales pub lies one of England’s most impressive natural sights. Hardraw Force plunges around 100ft, making it the highest single-drop waterfall in the country.

Set within peaceful woodland, it’s not just the scenery that makes this place special. Fans of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves might recognise it—Kevin Costner famously filmed a scene right beneath the falls.

📍 You can park at the Green Dragon Inn (DL8 3LZ), or enjoy a scenic walk over the fields from Hawes.

💦 A small entry fee applies to access the waterfall.

This short, peaceful walk above the village of Austwick is one of those hidden gems that feels like a secret. Dappled sunlight, birdsong, and that carpet of bluebells stretching as far as you can see 🌸✨

This double bedroom has had a gentle refresh, and it’s amazing what a few small changes can do. I’ve always loved how the right details can make a space feel warm and welcoming — the kind of room you instantly want to slow down in and relax 🌿

It finally feels finished, and I love how calm and cosy it feels now…

The views are quite simply breathtaking, we have visited from a city and it has been a real treat to wake up to these views.
