🐾 Dog Friendly Fridays: The Dog Field

Kicking off a new series on why Millbrook Cottages is such a good spot for dogs (and their humans).

First up — our dog field. Over an acre, fully sheep-netted, so your dog can have a proper off-lead run without you worrying about the sheep next door or the road. Don’t forget our nature trail too!

It’s part of what makes us properly dog friendly, not just dog tolerant. Lakeview and Wheel Room both welcome up to two dogs, so if you’re planning a break away with your four-legged friends, we’ve got the space (and the field) for them to enjoy it too.

🔥 New this summer: The Mill BBQ

We’ve added a charcoal BBQ outside the mill for guests to enjoy on those long summer evenings.

Charcoal is available to buy from us — £5 for 1.2kg or £11 for 2.5kg, all locally made. Or grab some from the local shop if you’d rather.

There’s a box of utensils ready to use too. Just one ask: please give the BBQ a clean once you’re done, ready for the next guests.

We'd love your help with something 🙏

When you arrive at a self-catering cottage, what do you actually want to find there? We're talking the basics — toilet rolls, shower gel, coffee, cleaning stuff — but also the stuff that makes you think "oh, they've really thought about this."

We already leave freshly baked bread and a welcome cake waiting for you, but we're always trying to do better.
