Southhouse - a traditional Shetland Crofthouse Welcome to Southhouse, a cosy traditional crofthouse, and a great place for a holiday in the glorious Shetland Islands Traditional but quirky!

Southhouse is a homely cosy Shetland Croft house which sits on the southern shores of Ronas Voe, about 50 yards from a beach and ruins of a historic fishing station. The nearest house is about 100 yards away, and Ronas Voe itself is a haven of peace and tranquility , looked over by Shetland's largest hill, Ronas Hill.The views are stunning from the house conservatory, and the house itself was sym

pathetically modernised in 1994, though there has been a house on this site for over 400 years.There is an abundance of wildlife- seals otters and arctic terns can be seen at the beach.The house has full central heating and was rewired and replumbed, but retains its old low ceilings and doors, optional rayburn oven and a stove in the living room. The house is warm enough without but if you want to be especially roasty toasty there is a supply of peat for chilly days and when the wind howls outside...
