Hot weather and incoming tides: please take care at the coast
With this glorious hot weather, many people will be heading to the beach to enjoy the sunshine. Please remember that the tide can come in quickly and channels can change, especially around Wells and Holkham.
Before you head out, check the tide times and make sure you are back on dry sand or land at least four hours before Wells Bar high tide.
If you are visiting the coast:
Check tide times before you go
Keep a close eye on children and dogs near the water.
Take plenty of water and protect yourself from the sun.
Avoid swimming alone
If you get into difficulty in the water, Float to Live: tilt your head back, relax, control your breathing and call for help.
If you see someone in trouble at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard
The coast is beautiful, but it is always changing. Please don’t take risks, and help us share these important water safety messages.
