Our quiet campsite at Lane End has much to offer and an ideal base for exploring the beautiful south west. The entire region is in easy reach from our north Devon location, enabling you to discover the variety of beautiful coastline, woodland and moorland the stunning region offers, including historical cities, pretty villages, theme parks and more.

Our family have lived at Lane End since 1993, opening the campsite over 10 years ago. We continue to welcome new and returning guests all year round. It has changed much over the years. Richard and Jan planted every tree and have nurtured the gardens and ponds into what you see today. These photos give an inkling of how the place has developed - same pond, many years apart.

If you would like to glamp rather than camp, we also have two glamping pods tucked away in the far corner of the site, with beautiful views of the woodland and ponds.

Both pods are dog friendly and come complete with underfloor heating, bed, table and chairs, fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery and a private deck with an outdoor table and chairs. Facilities also include toilets, showers, dishwashing area, communal campfire area, barbecues, established ponds and woodland walk - especially beautiful in springtime.

Set in an idyllic green and leafy site, our pitches overlook two well-established ponds and woodland.

We can accommodate 5 camper/caravans and 10 tents at any one time and offer eleven pitches with electric hook-ups. Options include larger pitches, one with a private pond-side deck, hard standings, private water supply and drainage.

Other facilities include: waste and chemical disposal points; toilet and washbasin; wet room with sink, shower and toilet; recycling point; freezer; washing up and laundry facilities. We welcome dogs and have an enclosed dog-walk area.

While painting the Red Pod, I had the unexpected joy of seeing these baby wrens leave their nest. Ma and Pa had spent the days previously bringing food and keeping the nest clean. I thought there were 2 chicks, so it was a gift to see 4 hop out and fly for the first time. These tiny birds are full of song and spirit and are still around the place.

PS Nest (still) vacant for new residents (enquiries welcome).

PPS A wren is busy refurbishing an old nest in the shelter of the Green Pod - will hopefully have something more to share from both these nests if new residents move in.
