A summer fishing trip to remember at Clawford Lakes!

Thomas and his family spent some time on the banks with us this summer and it certainly wasn’t just the experienced anglers getting in on the action.

From a first little tench to some cracking carp, these photos are exactly what fishing holidays are all about. Time together, plenty of patience and that excitement when the rod finally goes!

With 17 lakes across the resort, there’s fishing for complete beginners right through to experienced carp anglers, making it a great way to get the whole family involved.

The pumpkins are out, the apples are bobbing and we're getting ready for a fun-filled October half term!

We've got plenty to keep the whole family entertained, including:

Look how well Otter is doing!

We’ve just received the latest 12 month update for our sponsored Hearing Dogs puppy, and there’s so much progress to share.

Over the past six months, Otter has completed his Puppy Two Star award, made fantastic progress with his loose lead walking and experienced lots of new situations, including his very first bus ride.

He’s now moved onto Puppy Three Star training, where he’ll build on everything he has already learnt and start making more of the correct choices independently.

One of the most exciting developments is that Otter has begun sound work. He’s already learning to respond to the cooker timer and touch his volunteer puppy trainer’s leg as part of his alert training.

His trainer says his kind nature, eagerness to learn and steady progress are all helping him move closer towards potentially becoming a life changing hearing dog.

Our guests help us support Hearing Dogs for Deaf People too. For every dog included on a holiday booking with us, we donate £5 to the charity.

Well done, Otter. We can’t wait to follow the next stage of your journey!

With another exciting year ahead at Clawford Lakes, we're already looking forward to welcoming familiar faces back and introducing plenty of new guests to our little slice of Devon countryside.

Whether 2027 is all about making family memories, enjoying adventures with the children, escaping for a romantic hot tub weekend or simply finding time to switch off beside the lakes, we've got your next getaway covered.

From fishing and family activities to lakeside lodges, relaxing spa days and countryside walks, there's something for everyone. And of course, dogs stay FREE!

A little note for anyone planning ahead...

Following our Christmas and New Year stays, we'll be taking a short winter break from 4th January, reopening on 5th February 2027, refreshed and ready for another wonderful season!

Our 2027 holidays are already available to book, with just a £50 deposit to secure your stay and the option to spread the cost.

Not quite a pod. Definitely not a lodge.

Meet our Heron Retreats.

Tucked away in their own lakes edge area of Clawford Lakes, these are one of our newest ways to stay and they’re a little different from anything else on the resort.

There’s a mezzanine twin sleeping area upstairs perfect for children, additional sleeping space downstairs for the grown ups and a covered outdoor deck complete with your own hot tub in your enclosed outdoor space.

They’re modern, quirky and made for guests who want something a little different from the traditional lodge holiday.

As the resort gets quieter and the seasons begin to change, it’s a brilliant time to pack the rods and escape to Clawford Lakes.

From easier waters for those just starting out to specimen fishing for experienced anglers, you can make fishing as much or as little a part of your stay as you like.

And when you’re done for the day?

Back to your lodge, dinner at the Apple & Grape or a long soak in the hot tub sounds pretty good to us.
