Come to Wells Christmas Tide and enjoy the Fireworks on Saturday 22nd November 2025.

Wells Christmastide 2025 starts at 10am in Staithe Street, with Dave the Scottish Piper opening the event.

There will be over 100 craft and food stalls, all day entertainment, such as stilt walkers, Robot man, singers, fire eaters.

Father Christmas will arrive by sea later in the afternoon, and then we have a fantastic fireworks display, over the marshes.

You can also book to see Santa, in his Grotto, at Wells Maltings.

Thinking about this in my accomodations. Cheap Chargers and phones left in the cottage. Please think about charging it safely and not on a surface that is flammable.

Our crews were called out recently to a house fire in Diss - caused by an old mobile phone which had been put on to charge earlier that day.

The call came in the early hours of the morning and luckily the resident had working smoke alarms, which woke them up and gave them time to evacuate quickly.

The ground floor of the house was filled with smoke but the damage to the property was thankfully limited. When we spoke to the resident, they said they were trying to retrieve photos from the phone, which hadn't been used in two years. The charger used was also not the original one supplied with the phone.

This fire could have been much worse.

Please make sure you have working smoke alarms on all floors of your home and that you test them regularly 👆

Only use the charger that was supplied with your device or a replacement that has been recommended by the retailer 📱

And always charge when you are awake and at home - so that if a fire does break out, you can evacuate quickly and call us on 999! 🚒
