Thank you Sally and Paul for such a wonderful stay at Home Farm. It is clear that there has been so much care and attention put into the properties and the facilities and this was evident throughout our stay. Everything has been thought through really carefully to ensure guests have a relaxing stay in such a lovely part of the UK.
Our experience as a family of 3 with a lively 5 year old was really really positive.
Things we loved: friendly welcome, fresh flowers, biscuits and cottage bear Derwent. All the info in the file was helpful and helped us to make the most of our trip. Well equipped cottage with high quality touches like the linen and soft furnishings (loved the Joules sheets in the single). All the child-friendly stuff - practical (Dino plates, shatterproof cups etc) and fun (books, board games, the play house and tractors kept our little girl entertained for hours). The pool was great, spotless, perfect temperature, and we really enjoyed having the 3 private use sessions. I think that works really well alongside the free slots each day. Having Gaelle on site is a massive positive, loved having a bit of pampering during our stay.
We only had one minor issue (washing machine programming - we'd not intended to use but it actually really came in handy!) All sorted very quickly with no fuss and freshly washed clothes delivered to our door which was extremely kind of Paul!
Tiny things to flag: extractor hood light didn't seem to work (but rest of kitchen really well lit so not a problem), and a bit of what looked like a small damp/condensation patch from winter along one bit of double bedroom wall immediately next to window frame on right hand side (think I only noticed this as rest of cottage was spotless!) Everything else was perfect.
We loved the location - our first time staying in your bit of Norfolk. Weybourne itself is such a lovely spot - we loved the beach and collecting pebbles (photo attached with Derwent!) I called in at the beautiful church for a bit of quiet time, and we enjoyed a great meal at The Ship. We visited the cafe several times, coffee and the loaves there were great.
We really enjoyed Bewilderwood (thank you for the tip about the boat!), Roar (well worth the ticket price and a great day out), the beach at Sheringham and wandering round Holt (Two Magpies Apple cake was incredible and we got some lovely local bits from Bakers and Larners). We also really liked Blickling Hall and they had loads on for children with the NT’s Summer of Play which seems to be an annual thing now - so lots of activities like archery, tennis, football, dressing up outside on the lawns.
We will definitely be back as there was stuff we just didn't get round to, and our daughter said she wanted to stay forever! We have stayed in lots of self catering places in the UK but Home Farm is by far the best - and great value for money we felt with the high quality accommodation, facilities and beautiful location.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday! We will leave a review online soon :)
Best wishes,
Rachel, Will and Heather Lazenby
