One of the best bits about selling our own meats is seeing the delights that our customers conjure up !

“So I made a lamb tagine from scratch today, using the shoulder. I browned it, toasted my spices and then cooked it in a slow cooker for six hours on a low heat. Just served up and the lamb was like butter… it literally melted in the mouth. I even put the bone in as it had a bit of meat on it after I’d hacked away at it! And the excess meat just fell off the bone. Served it with cous cous and garnished with almonds and fresh coriander.”

A massive plee from us 🙏

With just a week to go until we open and with other patches opening from tomorrow we kindly ask you to keep us in mind this pumpkin season.

Many of you love to embrace the autumnal festivities and go to multiple patches and we simply ask that if thats you then please don't be that person that is happy to pay an entry fee at another patch, do all the costly extras like rides, farmshops etc where they can make an extra income and also then buy the pumpkins (usually very expensive especially when its called a 'festival ') then come to us and use the free entry and say sorry we bought our pumpkins somewhere else.
WE NEED TO SELL PUMPKINS to survive as we don't have many extras. A busy car park is no good if we aren't selling pumpkins. We fully understand the cost of living and you can only spend what you can, but please put your money into a small business rather than a commercial outfit when it is possible.

After a difficult spell when Bluetongue took both of our new rams it was great to be able to buy in a couple of fully vaccinated replacements at the NSA sale in Exeter and even better they only had to travel from down near Kingsbridge . Thanks to Libby and Ruggys efforts the sickly lambs are now still all in the shed but seem to be much stronger . This years calves had their second dose of vaccine on Friday . With no grass we still have cattle in the shed at a time when they really shouldn’t be but let’s hope for a decent drop of rain ☔️ later this week 🙏🏻

Just the three months after everyone else has dropped their calf , Lil Red at last gave birth to this pretty little heifer last night . She’s a very pretty cow so I’m surprised Ronnie the bull didn’t tackle her a bit earlier 😁
