A great visit to a local flower farm - Chalk Farm, Findon, run by the lost inspirational young couple, Molly and Dan. They opened their wonderfully organised flower farm today for the National Garden Scheme - love to visit an open garden with the WestSussexNationalGardenScheme . Chalk Farm Flowers (Molly and Dan).
It’s so worth while looking at locally grown flowers - supporting small local sustainable blooms rather than those that have been flown half way around the world and are full of chemicals to keep them artificially “fresh”. 💚

Today is Earth Day. Time to Stop and Reflect. We went to a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing and community discussion last night. There are local events all over the country, organised by communities / individuals working for Our Future. I’d so encourage everyone to look up the website and interactive map showing where your local screening is - there will be one in the coming weeks or months! Failing that, do check it out online and watch at home - then it’s for each of us to change something about how we’re living our lives, so we have a better future and our children and grandchildren can look forward to their own future 💚

Abundant Autumn This year has been one of abundance in nature - trees have been heaving with fruit, and acorns are falling to the extent that we have an acorn drive - completely covering the gravel! Wasps, the deer and birds are now enjoying the late apples and grapes - which are still aplenty and will be rich pickings for us and our animal friends for weeks to come I’m sure!

Human Connection is Vital
Just finished clearing up from such a lovely lunch party with Elderly Guests from Horsham…
I run a lunch group for elderly guests from the local area and just beyond (self referred or referred by friends / family / carers etc).
I have volunteer drivers and hosts. Each month I arrange a lunch (in winter) or tea (summer time) for the guests - with transport from lovely volunteers they get to know.
This month we gathered here for lunch - such a warm, friendly time was spent, with different people, who joined alone strangers and have now become close, caring friends.
Smiles, laughs, news, and supportive friendship 🌻
All under the umbrella of

We have had literally swarms of ladybirds enjoying the early autumn sun over the past few days. Clouds of them dancing in hazy motion like I have never seen before. Here captured resting on some Achillea - which has attracted pollinators all summer - and then some of our last Cosmos - still bursting with shocking pink🌸.
