Old Ing is a remote Yorkshire Dales farmhouse with two fabulous rooms available for holidays. The house is situated high on the moors on the foothills of Pen-y-ghent, with views across to Whernside and the Ribblehead Viaduct from the front gate. There are walking and

cycle trails on the doorstep, including the Pennine Way/Bridleway and Yorkshire 3 Peaks. This is a dark skies area, perfect for star gazing. We are surrounded by a working farm, so the sheep are our only close neighbours. The perfect tranquil hideaway - no distractions except for stunning views!

I went to Ribblehead Station this week, for a guided walk around the incredible viaduct by volunteers from Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line, learning about the history of the railway and the construction of the monumental viaduct and a cup of tea in the newly restored Ribblehead Station Tearoom and Visitor Centre. You can see the Viaduct from Old Ing, so here is Old Ing from the Viaduct!
