Snow melt and recent rain has pulled the fish up the river and the water has settled back and is now a perfect level.
First spring fish of the season for Marnoch Lodge this cracking 15lber.
Safely returned.

After the lift in levels last weekend we had a decent week with 6 salmon and 2 sea trout.
Jon Pugh landed his first Atlantic salmon, from Falconer's of course, so many people's favourite pool for their first salmon.
Not to be out done brother Micael had two fish for the week, the best this 12lber from Hummies. Both taken on the fly and safely returned.
There was also this amazing sunset on Thursday evening!

Nine fish last week despite a lack of rods. Mostly grilse except a nice 13lber out of Hummies. Rain last night brought up the level a few inches this morning, will hopefully keep it fresh. Still a nice bit of colour in the water. Reports of fresh fish in the lower beats should be moving up river.

Frost and a charming fishing hut - all the good things!

Finally completed the Returns for 2020 for Marnoch Lodge.
A total of 47 salmon for the season which all things considered is not bad.
We obviously had a slow start due to lockdown however we had a good run of fish in June but a lack of rods meant we did not put as many in the book as we could have.
We worked away in July and August however come September and a lack of rain, water level dropped back and catches dried up to the frustration of our guests.
We finally had rain at the end of the month, the fish moved through and we ended up with the best October in recent years for fish landed.
Best fish of the season goes to George Baxter for his 16lber on a Cascade tube and most inventive lure goes to Mike Thomas for his Budweiser bottle top lure - see picture!
A special mention for Leon Simpson who landed his first salmon.
Over 400 brownies for the season with two over 4lbs and 22 over 2lbs.
All fish returned.
