The Old Flower Field Luxury Lodges The Old Flower Field provides Luxury 4 star gold award winning Lodges on the edge of South Down National Park in West Sussex.

Each lodge has two bedrooms, bathroom with a large walk in shower, a lounge/dinning room and a kitchen.

A SUNDAY MORNING WALK.
Every Sunday morning we try to go on a walk, as we get older both Sue and I really enjoy the countryside and nature! We used to ignore it and if honest take it for granted but not anymore! Well today we did a bit of the Downslink footpath and the bank of the River Adur, it was great!!!! Drive to Henfield, park in the car park next to the Railway Inn and then enjoy!!!!! Get out there folks its free and fun!

What a terrible loss to the UK and the Comonwealth. Liz was my queen for all of my life, she was my boss in the Royal Navy and the one constant during the last 64 year! RIP you lovely lady!

WINTER CLOSING PERIOD.
We are going to close the old flower field between Monday 19th December 2022 and Thursday 2nd February 2023. We have got to complete some maintanance which will involve closing down some utilities for a few weeks while the work is carried out. I am sorry for any inconvienience this will cause our future guests.

GUTTED
It with deep regrete that I must inform our past guests that BORIS has passed away at 0109 on Sunday. He passed away at home with both Suzanne and me by his side, I think it was a heart attack! All I can say is that that this small scruffy dog has been a integural part of my life for nearly fifteen years and I will never get over his loss!

NEW HYPNOS BEDS.
The new beds are due for delivery on the 21st April if the factory in Castle Donnington doesnt have any problems! We will close for a couple of days so the instalation process will not effect any guests! My intention is to be open again for bookings by the Friday the 22nd April.

The maximum number guests that can stay in a lodge has been reduced from four to three from 3/3/22.

Bedroom Two beds are changing.
We have made the desision to change the beds in bedroom two from bunk beds to a Single Upmarket Bed From Hypnos. This desision has been forced on us by threats of litigation by a familily with children. I feel sorry that we have been forced to exclude families of four but when people try to abuse the system and threaten to sue you have to react accordingly. The maximum guests that can stay with us has been reduced to three with effect imeadiantly!

LODGE FOUR IS NOW PET FRIENDLY.
Over the last six months we have been asked numerous times if guests can bring their dog with them, but because of certification rules we have been unable to offer this service! We have now made the decision to de-certify lodge four to enable guests to bring their pet. An additional charge will be made for dogs or cats so that our cleaning standard can be maintained, but lodge four will be pet friendly from 20/12/21. All other lodges will remain pet free and certification will remain intact!

EU VISITORS RETURN.
We are beginning to get bookings from the EU again which is both great for us and local businesses. To quantify how bad things have been we have only hosted two foreign guests in the last four months when we would normally host double that number in a single week.
LONG MAY IT CONTINUE, NORMALITY MIGHT JUST BE ROUND THE CORNER IF WE ARE ALL CAREFUL.

Suzanne is now home having had her operation on Wednesday the 28th April. She is recovering in a lodge (no stairs) but her medication is quite severe! Watching the person you have loved for 36 years go through the pain of recovery is difficult! I feel really guilty administering the painful injections every day and forcing her to do the exercises which clearly cause pain and uncomfort! However we both know that the end result will be worth all the effort and discomfort! Sorry if we are both distant from our friends and family at the moment but this recovery process is both time consuming and intense!

Our story

The Old Flower Field provides Luxury 4 star Lodges and a Campsite with eight pitches on the edge of South Down National Park in West Sussex. We are assessed four star by visit England and have gained a gold award, trip advisor have given us Certificate of Excellence for both 2018 and 2019.

The great thing about The Old Flower Field Site is it is less than five minutes walk from the village of Hurstpierpoint with its pubs, restaurants, take aways and shops. Add free private parking to the equation and relaxation is a given!!!!!!
