When you go to start a Friday changeover and walk in to this πŸ™Œβ€οΈπŸ‘Œ.
5 stars for my lovely guests, who left the cabin super neat and tidy.

I've worked in hospitality a lot, from YHA hostels to fancy ski chalets in France, and it definitely stays with you, the need to leave places as you find them (or sometimes better πŸ˜…).

I always strip the beds and clean before I leave a holiday accommodation, because I know what it means to the person who comes in to find it like this πŸ™πŸ˜.

Thanks guests, you can definitely come again! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It has barely rained here since the summer solstice πŸ™ƒβ˜€πŸŒΏ. Today, it's really showing in these photos, with the fell looking more yellow than green! Thankfully, we have a borehole so the animals still have full water troughs and the campsite still has running taps and showers 🚿.

The farm hooked onto mains water a few years ago when they put a new dairy in, but it's a bit hit and miss, so we do rely a lot on the private water supply and borehole. Always a balance in the countryside; too much rain, not enough rain πŸ˜…. That's why us Brits love talking about the weather so much!

I've been mowing and cleaning today, making sure everything is tip topπŸ•οΈπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ. We're fully booked for most of the summer and yet, even in the summer holidays I'd happily bet this is one of the quietest and most peaceful parts of the UK right nowπŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ˜Ž.

Not a soul to be seen this afternoon! Absolutely glorious!

Capernwray Diving Centre is open to the public for diving and open water swimming.

It's only 20 minutes from our site, and is a great place for a cool down and a swim:

Fell Foot, a National Trust site near Newby Bridge is just 30 minutes from our camp site πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜ŽπŸš£β€β™€οΈπŸ‘Œ.

The car park can get busy but the overflow was open today and if you arrive in the morning, or alternatively after 4pm, you'll generally get parked fine. Free for National Trust members.

It's wonderful for swimming, paddle boarding (you can hire them too), canoeing, going on the Windermere Ferry, playing and relaxing.

There's a cafe, toilets, play area and tonnes of space. Dog friendly too.

There was even a pizza van there this afternoon πŸ• πŸ™Œ.

We love it β€οΈβ˜€οΈ.

Well πŸ˜…πŸ₯΅πŸ« πŸ˜Ž...
I can honestly say that was THE hottest changeover day I've ever experienced!
After 3 hours of mowing grass in 30Β°+ midday sun, followed by the usual changeover day jobs, I can safely say I deserved my glass of icy c***r in the garden this evening!

Chilling in this weather is delightful πŸ™ŒπŸ» but I have a new found respect for gardeners who are working through the heatwaves! β˜€οΈπŸŒΏβœ‚οΈ

Enjoy the beautiful weather everyone!!

RSPB Leighton Moss is just 10 minutes from our site. Home of the bittern, you can also spot otters, red deer, march harriers, ospreys and much more. There's also a cafe, shop, accessible trail and a dog-friendly walk too.

It's great for families; lots of events, a family trail, sky tower to climb and see for miles at the top, and you can borrow pond dipping equipment and see what you can find in the pond.

We love it here 😍🌷

Foulshaw Moss is also nearby, and they have two active osprey nests at the moment, with live webcams. It's a really interesting place to visit! Adders in the wild too, if that's on your bucket list!

Family fun today at Zip World, Brockhole on Windermere and we had the whole place to ourselves πŸ™ŒπŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈ!

Sounds like they are having a few tweaks later this week, so the slides and extra bits should all be ready for half term!

Can highly recommend.

There are some changes to the catering at Brockhole so we were glad we took a packed lunch today as there was nothing open, only toilets.

The play area is free (once you've paid for parking) and there's a lovely walk to the lake.

High top nets and also a zip wire and tree top ropes course - plenty to do and see. You can also go on boat trips from the jetty there.

We've been taking the kids since they were tiny and we always have a good day.

Dogs are allowed too, just not in the play area πŸΎπŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί.
