Hello lovely followers 💛 WOW it has been way too long since our last post! We have been very busy over the summer that even though we share snippets on our story we haven’t updated you in a while. Now going back to March 24, we prepared the footings and floor for the shower block with insulation and pipes for the drain’s.

From humble beginnings. Our sites coming along beautifully, with our bunds now fully established and entrance pathways carved out it’s finally starting to look like a campsite. This past winter, we dedicated some time to laying our hedge🌳✨

Why do we lay a hedge?

Promotes Healthier Growth: Laying a hedge encourages new shoots to grow from the base, resulting in a denser, healthier hedge.
Supports Wildlife: A laid hedge offers a richer habitat for birds, insects, and small mammals.
Enhances Appearance: It gives our landscape a well-maintained, traditional look that adds to its charm.
Boosts Security: A thicker, well-laid hedge can act as a natural barrier for privacy and protection.
We also trimmed back branches to improve visibility and neatened the sides for a crisp, clean finish.

Our Sauna block has really taken shape over the winter months, with the addition of its concrete ring beam it looks like a building again! We might have gone a bit overboard with the rebar, but hey, better safe than sorry, right? Can’t wait to share all the progress we’ve made since these photos were taken. Stay tuned for updates! ⚒️🏕️

With the weather improving we can finally fine tune one of our yurts internal walls. Lovingly made from sheets of birch ply, with plenty of tricky angles needing to be cut. Sanded and oiled with linseed, we're really pleased with it. Despite the hailstone and mathematical head aches, a lot was learnt! Thanks to Andy Gee and Demelza Sophia for all the advice and hard work.
