"We arrived on a very hot Saturday and the owners had already messaged us to say they had opened the conservatory windows and left us a fan. Really appreciated and very much needed for the first few days. The cottage was in a great location for walking to the canal and beach. Our dogs loved the garden and all the walks locally. We were left a lovely basket of local treats and the dogs had their own treats and also bowls and beds left out for them. A proper dog friendly property. The owners had thought of everything and it was a real treat and extremely comfortable to stay there. We were there for work purposes as well as catching up with friends and family, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly for me to work remotely. All in all a really cute and interesting cottage in a perfect location. One of the best we’ve stayed in (and we’ve stayed in a lot!). Would highly recommend."cottages.co.uk

Happy Summer Solstice everyone! Trying to stay in the countryside this weekend as 30 degrees on the seaside here in East Kent, a bit too hot for me & the animals. 🌅

I'm very proud and privileged to live in such a beautiful part of England East Kent. We have miles and miles of fabulous coastline, some pebbly, some sandy beaches and bleak, beautiful Dungeness is world renowned as is the White Cliffs nature reserve and of course the magnificent Dover Castle! Hythe is a historic cinque port town with the lovely Royal Military Canal, popular with dog walkers, cyclists, runners, fishing and boating- even horse riding as it's a bridleway, with golf & swimming (beach & pool) to add to the attraction. And don't forget the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Steam Railway?! Hythe and Folkestone mark the start of the Kent Downs ANOB and there are so many quaint inland villages, with many lovely woodland and countryside walks. The crowning glory might be Canterbury, a historic city with the jewel in the crown being the Cathedral! Honestly, whilst I like visiting other English locations, the fact that East Kent has such great transport links to London and France (were closer to France on 23 miles!!) makes East Kent the go to holiday location for everyone whether you live in the UK, Europe or further afield. Enough said.

The Olde Cottage, Hythe, Kent built in 1840, is a stunning cottage with 3 luxury bedrooms (sleeps 5), close to the expanse of fabulous beach and Royal Military Canal, popular with dog walkers, cyclists and runners.

The Olde Cottage has been recently renovated to a luxury standard with 3 bedrooms (2 x with King-size beds) - sleeps up to 5 people. A cosy, spacious lounge with 48” Sony Freeview TV, free Fast fibre broadband and feature fireplace – a large modern Kitchen/ Diner with Oak worktops and Belfast sink, leading to a huge, sunny conservatory with table and chairs to enjoy a morning coffee or evening meal, and a private secure (dog friendly) garden. As well as a handy downstairs loo, the upstairs bathroom has a roll top bath and a walk-in shower. The best thing is Hythe beach is a 5 mins stroll and the Royal Military Canal - a walkers, cyclists, runners, fishing and boating paradise - is 2 mins from the doorstep! We even have an outdoor bike store for 2 adult bikes. There are 2 traditional (dog friendly) pubs a short walk away and numerous pubs, cafes, restaurants, antique and boutique shops just along the Prom in Sandgate and Hythe Town.
